Alpine Ski K2 Annex 98

Ski sold without binding.

This is the narrowest in the Annex series and yet it comes with a 98mm waist! Featuring the same construction as the Annex 108, the thinner profile makes the ski a lot more agile and easy to manoeuver. This manoeuverability is also increased by a long rocker through the tip enhancing turn initiations and floatation. The poplar/paulownia/maple core combined with a Metal Laminate construction and Hybritech sidewalls ensure an excellent reactivity, fast edge to edge transfers and a strong grip on harder snow, perfect for your all-mountain ventures.

What our testers say : Freeride-oriented all-mountain ski. It excels through long fast turns and should satisfy advanced and expert skiers who like the soft snow. The lightweight and the rockered profile of the ski make it very floaty and very enjoyable in the wild, but it also makes it a little less precise on hard snow. A good ski for exploring the whole resort peacefully, in any conditions.

Structure - Construction

  • Hybritech sidewalls :

This wider-waisted construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Offered exclusively on the Side series, Hybritech makes skis strong, accurate and powerful underfoot, while maintaining smooth initiation and easy exits from turns.

  • Poplar/Paulownia/Maple core :

Wood cores have been used in the ski industry for ages. They deliver stability and rebound while killing vibrations. They're extremely durable.

  • Metal Laminate Technology :

Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

Various

  • Powder Tip :

Designed to be more predictable in soft snow conditions, these tips are designed to strike the perfect balance of maximizing float while reducing tip deflection. These tips are designed with a gentle arc and transition into the sidecut of the ski.

  • Tapered Tip :

The widest point of the tip is further back on the ski, which reduces the weight of the tip and the resistance of it in soft snow.
