Alpine Ski 4FRNT Yle

Ski sold without binding.

The Yle is 4FRNT definition of a freestyle backcountry joy machine. Its sole mission is to smear untracked slopes and paint the trees in white. The Yle is a powder viking, a kaiser of the deep, the emperor of the white kingdom and it fears nothing whatsoever.

What can the 4FRNT Yle do?

This twin-tip monster comes with a 118mm waist and a tip and tail rocker both offering floatation and support on the deepest powder you can find. The rockers also give the ski tons of manoeuvering and make turns fluid and intuitive. Its powerful construction and flex make the ski poppy and lively, suited for jumping off cliffs or natural booters and land switch if needed. Perfectly balanced in the air, adding spins to your tricks  feels rather natural and good. But making an excellent powder ski wasn’t enough for 4FRNT, so they made it super light as well in order to allow ambitious riders to use it for touring. On hard snow, the ski holds its own even if it’s not the best piste-specific ski ever. It does obey and links smooth turns if you know how to ask. Just don’t make it carve on ice, that’s its only limit.

Who is the 4FRNT Yle designed for?

The Yle is THE freeski you need if you are advanced or expert level. It is a fantastic twin-tipped ski that performs hard on powder. If you want to test your own limits and push them further, the Yle is a partner of choice.

Structure - Construction

  • Hi-Lite Core  :

Poplar and beech create a snappy yet lightweight composition to support wider skis in soft snow.

  • Semi-Cap Construction  :

Sandwich construction with the topsheet covering the sidewall, providing reinforcement.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Rocker technology  :

Maximizes performance on deep snow. Camber is designed so that the pressure points are higher which enhances floatation and manoeuvrability on powder.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Twin-Tip  :

A symmetrical shape for a 100% freestyle ride, as efficient in switch as in regular stance.
