Alpine Ski Amplid Hill Bill

Ski sold without binding.

The Hill Bill is not quite like a yellow-dressed ninja girl swinging her samurai sword all around but it definitely has skills which shall inspire creative riders to get even more creative. The Hill Bill is a freestyle backcountry bad boy designed to shred powder and stomp landings on the deep with the style of a shaolin monk.

What can the Amplid Hill Bill do?

The Hill Bill is not for the faint-hearted skiers who should skip this page and find a narrower ski. Nope, the Hill Bill is for riders with ambitions who have what it takes to ride a 120mm waisted beast. With such a ski on your feet, you’ll understand what means ‘surfin the pow’ or ‘smearing the untouched’ and you will take pleasure to do so. The ski feels fantastic on powder, it floats with a natural ease and feels actually very nimble. It can turn very short and runs between the trees are actually possible. It’s a big ski though and it feels demanding, technically and physically. If it’s the first time you are stepping on a pair of skis, don’t buy this one or you’re gonna hurt yourself. The ski is a hauling machine that nothing can stop. It is stable, powerful and responsive. It is the ski you want to take out when it’s been dumping outside.

Who is the Amplid Hill Bill designed for?

Suited for expert skiers and no one else. It is a ski that you will use when conditions are optimal meaning you may not use it every day. Technically demanding, we recommend it to experienced freeriders.

What are the main assets of the Amplid Hill Bill?

Stunning floatation

Agility

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Structure - Construction

  • Basalt Suspension Strips  :

Running all the way through the topsheet in a V shape going from the contact points through the ski boots, these basalt reinforcements absorb vibrations and reduce fatigue while ensuring optimal edge/snow contact for maximal control.

  • Doomsday Bend  : Believe it or not, even glass fibres have a degree of elasticity. Using pre-stretched fibres in our laminates means you can be sure that your shred will never feel lifeless or lack pop throughout its life.
  • Jekyll & Hyde Geometry  :

Max effective edge and square centimetres in a min board or ski length. Experimenting with complete shaping (outline, camber and core profile together) in the lab and on the mountain has resulted in some crazy discoveries: Unsinkable but nimble powder boards, sawn-off jib decks with huge pop and edge-hold and the ultimate all-mountain ski recipe. With Jekyll and Hide Geometry appearances can be deceiving.

  • P10 Superlight wood core  :

Ultra light woodcore, the P10 is a standard in the industry with optimal lightweight and durability.

  • Nukeproof Roundtop  :

Botox for your skis: To protect the topsheet from aging, our latest ski construction offers the best solution against chipping: Thanks to our 3D mould the PE foil gets welded over a small radius onto the sidewall.

  • Stomp Guard  :

A thin titanal reinforcement diminishes the risks of damage due to impacts near edges and increases edge grip by 215%

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Sintered 7.2k Lightspeed GE Base
  • TPU Spins Tips
