Amplid Multiplayer 2017

Alpine Ski Amplid Multiplayer

Ski sold without binding.

If you want to see what the Multiplayer can do, just google Julien Lange who is using it as its freeride backcountry ski. Tip and tail rocker, directional shape, softer tips than on a pure freeride construction for a more playful feel, the Multiplayer is a big toy delivering high powder performance thanks to a 108mm waist providing tons of float on the deep.

What can the Amplid Multiplayer do?

You can use that ski for doing pretty much anything that’s on your mind. Surf the pow and lay deep tracks behind you, jump off huge cornices, explore the backcountry and play your way across the trees, Amplid are setting the bar high with the Multiplayer. Every rock, every pillow, every obstacle is the opportunity for a new trick. Press it, jump it, slide it, just express your creativity. The Camrock profile coupled with the titanal reinforcements make landings more stable and help absorbing vibrations on hard snow. Yes, hard snow, because the Multiplayer is not exclusive to powder. Even if fresh and deep powder remains its favorite lunch, the ski works well on groomed and delivers a satisfying edge control. It’s not as lively as a 100mm- waisted ski but it definitely holds its own.

Who is the Amplid Multiplayer ski designed for?

If you want to play on the entire mountain, then the Multiplayer is a safe pick. As its name suggests, the ski handles most terrains with ease and it particularly excels on powder. We recommmend it thoroughly to advanced and expert skiers looking for a freeride/backcountry shred stick.

Shape

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Weight of the pair in grams

Structure - Construction

  • Basalt Suspension Strips  :

Running all the way through the topsheet in a V shape going from the contact points through the ski boots, these basalt reinforcements absorb vibrations and reduce fatigue while ensuring optimal edge/snow contact for maximal control.

  • Jekyll & Hyde Geometry  :

Max effective edge and square centimetres in a min board or ski length. Experimenting with complete shaping (outline, camber and core profile together) in the lab and on the mountain has resulted in some crazy discoveries: Unsinkable but nimble powder boards, sawn-off jib decks with huge pop and edge-hold and the ultimate all-mountain ski recipe. With Jekyll and Hide Geometry appearances can be deceiving.

  • Nukeproof Roundtop  :

Botox for your skis: To protect the topsheet from aging, our latest ski construction offers the best solution against chipping: Thanks to our 3D mould the PE foil gets welded over a small radius onto the sidewall.

  • Triaxial Glass  :

Amplid uses Triaxial glass in the majority of its skis for greater torsional rigidity, which in layman's terms means more grip and response.

  • Omni Core  :

The P10 Superlight wood core is the industry standard for lightweight, durable and versatile performance. We've tweaked this core so many times there is nothing left to improve.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Flotation Tips  :

Ultra wide low rising tips that exist purely to create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. They add a surfy feel to skis.

  • Sintered 7 Base  :

A premium sintered plastic which readily absorbs wax and will out-run your riding buddies' bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.
