Amplid Rockwell 2017

Alpine Ski Amplid Rockwell

Ski sold without binding.

Here comes Amplid’s flagship, the mountain slayer, the ski made for slicing the mountain into pieces. The Rockwell is the definition of an all-mountain ski and it’s a love at first ride. The 5-point sidecuts and the Jekyll & Hyde geometry guarantee the best manoeuverability you could dream of. The traditional camber and the tip and tail rocker make the ski grippy and floaty at the same time, more versatile than a swiss-army knife. If that is not a pure all-mountain ski, then what is?

What can the Amplid Rockwell ski do?

The Rockwell is an all-terrain vehicle that can blast through pow and plow through crud with a ridiculous ease. Despite a generous 95mm waist, which by the way excels on powder, the ski feels surprisingly agile and lively under the foot. The 14m turning radius allows for laying sharp and short turns on groomers with a good energy return from turn to turn. The ski tends to lack precision at high speed on the hardest snow but if that’s what you’re looking for, then you shouldn’t be looking at an all-mountain ski. It’s a ski that performs very well on all kinds of snow, a ski that you can use every day, no matter the conditions. On piste, off piste, the Rockwell is a playful and enjoyable partner.

Who is the Amplid Rockwell ski designed for?

We recommend this multitasker to every advanced and expert skiers who look for a versatile player for slaying the mountain at high speed. With the Rockwell, you don’t have to worry about the snow conditions, you know you’re gonna rip, end of story.

What are the main assets of the Amplid Rockwell ski?

Structure - Construction

  • Jekyll & Hyde Geometry  :

Max effective edge and square centimetres in a min board or ski length. Experimenting with complete shaping (outline, camber and core profile together) in the lab and on the mountain has resulted in some crazy discoveries: Unsinkable but nimble powder boards, sawn-off jib decks with huge pop and edge-hold and the ultimate all-mountain ski recipe. With Jekyll and Hide Geometry appearances can be deceiving.

  • Nukeproof Roundtop  :

Botox for your skis: To protect the topsheet from aging, our latest ski construction offers the best solution against chipping: Thanks to our 3D mould the PE foil gets welded over a small radius onto the sidewall.

  • Triaxial Glass  :

Amplid uses Triaxial glass in the majority of its skis for greater torsional rigidity, which in layman's terms means more grip and response.

  • Omni Core  :

The P10 Superlight wood core is the industry standard for lightweight, durable and versatile performance. We've tweaked this core so many times there is nothing left to improve.

  • Sintered 7 Base  :

A premium sintered plastic which readily absorbs wax and will out-run your riding buddies' bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.

  • All Terrain Tips  :

A smooth kick radius and fuller tip outline improves deep snow flotation without adding swing weight.
