Alpine Ski Black Diamond Helio 95

Ski sold without binding.

No more, Aspect, Convert and Megawatt, at Black Diamond the new generation of high-end ski touring is now called Helio. From the greek Helios that means sun and propeller, it is a well found name for this true hiking rocket. With a 95mm waist the only thing you wish is to skin up the highest summit of the planet and enjoy the longest run of your life.

What can the Black Diamond Helio 95 ski do?

This touring ski is endowed with a balsa and flax core associated to carbonfiber. A structure lightened to the maximum but the ski stays stiff in torsion and the flex is well balanced in order to engage on any steep and technical terrains. The core absorbs the shocks and vibrations to make the glide more comfortable even on the hard snow. The Helio 95 is stunning on the slopes where it delivers a great edge hold and stays stable even at high speed. You can use it as an everyday ski, but its predilection terrain stays the virgin faces filled with powder and high elevation. The tip rocker of the Helio 95 will then come into action to keep you afloat in deep.

Who is the Black Diamond Helio 95 ski designed for?

This versatile touring ski is perfect for confirmed and expert riders seeking to go on an adventure, to skin up when the forecast permits it and to have fun in the ski resort the rest of the time and enjoy the alpine abilities of this ski.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • Semi rockered tail  :

the rocker rises between 151 and 275mm.
