Description

The Dhaulagiri is a brand new ski that Dynafit releases for 2017. It is a mid fat ski that enters the line from the top with a generous 99mm waist showing clearly the ski’s intentions. Powder. The Dhaulagiri is a light touring ski that truly excels on the downhill. Reinforced with carbon and paulownia to keep it responsive, the ski weighs only 1450g in 177cm. It’s like magic.

What can the Dynafit Dhaulagiri touring ski do?

The ski is wide, wider than most touring skis which makes it incredibly floaty and efficient on powder. Its dual rocker makes the ski very nimble and fun to play with. But don’t be fooled by its look of freerider. Behind the large sidecuts hides an ultra-light construction turning the ski into a tourer. Indeed, the ski looks big but doesn’t feel big. Even if it’s slightly heavier than the Baltoro or the Manaslu, it remains light for a ski this wide and has no problem skinning up a steep and long slope. But as we said earlier, it is a downhill-oriented touring ski. Its wide profile coupled with the Dual Radius technology enhances manoeuverability and agility on pow while the rocker makes sure you stay afloat effortlessly. It feels really good to be able to enjoy a light construction on a 100mm (almost) waisted ski.

Who is the Dynafit Dhaulagiri touring ski designed for?

Coming straight out of the labs, the Dynafit Dhaulagiri is going to make a lot of skiers happy. From ex-freeriders who want to get into touring to experienced tourers who prefer skiing than skinning, the Dhaulagiri is a safe bet.

What are the main assets of the Dynafit Dhaulagiri touring ski?

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
