Alpine Ski Fischer Transalp 80

Ski sold without binding.

Always a bit further, always a bit higher: Fischer encourages you to expand your limits and to hit the highest summits in the Alps with its ultra-light touring ski named Transalp.

What can the Fischer Transalp 80 do?

A touring ski weighing 950 grams in 163 cm – it is a dream becoming true and it's what Fischer made for you! Thanks to a partly hollowed wooden core made out of paulownia wood, the ski takes bumps and plows through chop even at high speed. You can go touring with peace of mind and enjoy the most beautiful ventures on that very light Transalp 80 ski. You will definitely love the ultimate panoramic view at the summit without having to cool your legs down. On the downhill – you might have already guessed due to its small 80mm waist – it won't give you as much fun on deep powder as would 100mm+ waisted ski, but it definitely performs anywhere else. On days when you're not out in the wilderness but prefer to spend a couple of hours together with your best friends in your favourite resort, there's no problem. The ski allows changing terrains and works well on groomers thanks to its traditional camber. So once again a very good Fischer ski for an everyday use.

Who is the Fischer Transalp 80 designed for?

We recommend it to intermediate or advanced free touring skiers who are searching the ultimate uphill performance. Descending is not the ski's favourite game but the fun you will have when climbing up the summits is totally worth it.

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

Structure - Construction

  • Aeroshape  :

Specific construction, ultra light for optimal torsional stability

  • Air Tec Ti  :

The wood core Air Tec was minutely milled and unbalanced, what allowed to relieve it of 25 % while keeping its excellent properties. A titanal layer allied to this core allows to preserve flex and stifness in twisting.

  • Carbon Stringers  :

Specific construction ensuring exceptional lightweight, consistent flex and an optimal weight/torsional stiffness ratio.

  • Paulownia Wood Core
  • Sandwich Sidewall Construction  :

Woodcore combined with ABS sidewalls in a classic sandwich construction, for a homogeneous flex and a perfect rebound.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tour Rocker  :

The length of the ski/snow contact surface has been shortened for easier turn initiations and less efforts required.
