Alpine Ski Head Collective 105

Ski sold without binding.

Head freeskis return and they are going to make powder riders very happy. Derived in several widths, each having a specific colour, the skis excel on deep snow without compromising on-piste performance.

What can the Head Collective 105 do?

The Collective is the most versatile in Head’s freeski family. Not sure whether it needs to go in the fat or midfat category, but what we know is, it delivers whatever the conditions. On powder, the ski floats naturally. It rockered tip lifts the ski above surface and the 105mm waist carries you and breaks any obstacle that comes across. It works like a pure freeride ski and it feels real good. But it is on hard snow that the ski is going to give you a blast. Despite its generous sidecuts, the ski delivers an impressive edge control on groomers with tons of reactivity. The tail kicks well out of turns and the ski feels very stable at high speed. The ski is stiff and powerful, maybe too much if you are lighter than average or if you are not technical enough. But if you know how to tame the beast, you are going to have a great time shredding the mountain!

Who is the Head Collective 105 designed for?

This is a ski suited for advanced skiers looking for a powder-oriented ski that remains versatile enough to handle the hardpack. The Collective 105 is a great all-terrain vehicle that won’t leave you cold!

What are the main assets of the Head Collective 105?

Edge control on hard snow

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich Cap Construction  :

Head takes the basic framework from the world cup sandwich and places a cap that just wraps over the top edge of the sidewall to make the ski more suitable for every day all mountain skiing. Bomber construction with a rounded top edge makes for one incredible allcountry ski.

  • Durable sidewalls  :

    Enhances durability

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Allride Rocker  :

The brand places highly targeted amount of rocker in each model to ensure maximum performance for all ability levels. Steering is easier for all skiers and soft snow versatility is enhanced.

  • TTS  :

    Tip and Tail Stabiliser System

A ski with reduced vibration and increased dampening and a system to increase torsional strength all while at the same time reducing swing weight.

TTS is a stabilising exoskeleton which dampens the vibrations normally felt from rockered tips and tails also reduces overall swing weight and creates a ski with a playful yet high level of performance.

The system is comprised of an elastomeric inlay for vibration control as well as a glass fibre exoskeleton for stability and torsional strength. this combination not only reduces vibrations but creates better pressure distribution upon entry and exit of a turn by minimising lateral flex of the ski. Reducing overall vibration means better edge control and threrfore increasing overall skiing performance and skier experience. In addition, the reduction of necessary core materials in the tips and tails has created a lighter swing weight for easier handling and maeuverability both on snow and in the air.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • ISS - Independent suspension System  :

Elastomeric vibration killers located in the tip, tail and underfoot. The elastomers quiet the vibrations that are commonly associated with rockered skis. Underfoot, the vibrations are dampened to provide the skier with a smooth ride.

  • Base structures UHM C  :

Very High density base for an excellent glide performance, wax retention, and resistance to abrasion.
