Remember the Annex Series? Well, K2 dropped it and replaced it with their new freeride line, the Pinnacle series.

What can the K2 Pinnacle 118 do?

The ski is already a flagship for many skiers. Used by the pro rider Seth Morrison, the Pinnacle 118 gets its powder performance pushed to the max. Suited for riding steep ungroomed (and untracked if possible) slopes, the ski features K2’s new fibreglass reinforced core named Konic core. It also comes with a tapered shape and a big powder rocker ensuring optimal floatation on deep powder. The smaller rocker running through the tail offers added control and manoeuverability, allowing skiers to vary their turn lenghts and style with ease. The ski feels extremely agile despite its massive dimensions and excels at slashing pillows and landing on pow.

Who is the K2 Pinnacle 118 designed for?

If you like powder hounds, you will love the ski. It belongs to the fat freeride category and delivers high off-piste performance. We recommend the ski to expert skiers looking for a powder-specific ski that makes no compromise. Do not buy it if you spend your day on groomed snow, it is not made for racing!

What are the main assets of the K2 Pinnacle 118?

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Hybritech sidewalls  :

This wider-waisted construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Offered exclusively on the Side series, Hybritech makes skis strong, accurate and powerful underfoot, while maintaining smooth initiation and easy exits from turns.

  • Konic Technology  :

Revolutionary core design that redistributes weight to the ski's perimeter providing power, strength and stability directly over the edge for performance, while reducing swing-weight from the center and extremities for added ease and control.

  • Fir/Poplar core  :

K2's Adventure skis use an Aspen/Paulownia blend core. Lower-density Aspen and even lighter-weight Paulownia allow us to reduce the weight that results from the added surface area of wider skis. In addition, the Bio Core is 15% lighter than the fir/aspen blend traditional in our all-mountain skis.

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

Rocker - Camber

  • Powder Rocker  :

This tip has the most elevation and longest measurement of Rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions.

Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.

  • Powder Tip  :

Designed to be more predictable in soft snow conditions, these tips are designed to strike the perfect balance of maximizing float while reducing tip deflection. These tips are designed with a gentle arc and transition into the sidecut of the ski.

  • Symmetrical Taper  :

A symmetrical ski has a switch arc that is equivalent to its forward arc. To maximize performance, the mounting location is in the absolute center of the ski.
