The women freestyle backcountry series is back for 2016 which will make a lot of skiers happy! After a sheer success last year, K2 continues the Remedy series, if you’ve missed it last year, it’s time to catch up!

What can the K2 Remedy 92 do?

If the Remedy 92 looks skinnier than its bigger brothers, it still has a lot to offer. With 92mm at the waist and a tip and tail rocker, the ski has what it needs to venture through the whole mountain. Like a Swiss Army knife, the Remedy 92 cuts through the hardpack, blasts through crud and floats on pow with the same ease. The ski comes with a super lightweight poplar/paulownia/bamboo core that provides pop, liveliness and durability. That makes a ski that is as effortless as it is agile, turning every riding day into moments of fun. From sunrise to sunset, you’ll stay locked in your bindings wishing the day could last longer.

Who is the K2 Remedy 92 designed for?

With the Remedy 92, K2 is doing an offering to freestyle backcountry women skiers looking for something manoeuverable, effortless and fun. From intermediate up to advanced level, this is a great ski for riding what the mountain has to offer.

Structure - Construction

  • Bioflex core  :

Working with the Alliance Team to further develop our line of women's specific skis has lead to the Bioflex core, a breakthrough multi-wood core technology. Used on our T:Nine series of skis, the combination of two distinctly different woods, fir and spruce, provides a blend of stability and forgiveness in our women's skis. Not just different layers of wood, but completely different cores fused together at the tip and tail. Spruce, a light, soft wood is used in the extremities of the tip and tail and fir, a more solid, dense wood is used underfoot. The Spruce provides easy turn initiation, lightweight characteristics, and overall ease that T:Nine skis have come to be known for. The Fir underfoot provides a new level of confidence inspiring control, predictability and stability. The beauty of the Bioflex core is that it produces a lighter weight core which translates into skis that are easier to maneuver and causes less fatigue than a comparable men's size and model. The Bioflex core can also be tuned to the performance level of the ski. The Burnin' Luv and True Luv both share a Bioflex core, but the flex and performance levels differs dramatically.

  • Poplar/Paulownia/Bamboo core  :

K2's Adventure skis use an Aspen/Paulownia blend core. Lower-density Aspen and even lighter-weight Paulownia allow to reduce the weight that results from the added surface area of wider skis. In addition, the Bio Core is 15% lighter than the fir/aspen blend traditional in our all-mountain skis.

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

  • TwinTech  :

This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • All-Terrain Rocker  :

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Tip and Tail rivets  :

K2 introduced tip and tail rivets 7 years ago on the Factory Series skis. They were functionally developed for additional protection, reinforcing the tip and tail of the ski against delamination. Although function is still the primary purpose, K2 has evolved the rivets and plates into stylized components.

  • Swap Base  :

The bases of these skis can come in two different color ways, depending of how the colors are swapped on the base. This gives two looks to the same ski, and ensures you are not rocking the exact same pair as your buddy who just picked up the same pair of skis.
