Remember the movie The Performers released in 1970 by K2? Since then, the brand has always pushed riders and backedthem up with solid skis. These last few years, Sean Pettit, jointly with K2’s engineers, designed the Shreditor series which became an icon in the world of freestyle/backcountry.

What can the K2 Pettitor do?

Designed by Sean Pettit himself, the K2 Pettitor might very well be the best powder ski ever made. We admit it, the ski looks impressive at first sight. Having a 120mm platform under the foot is quite...demanding, that’s the least we can say. All you need to do to awake the ski’s superpowers is to gather speed. At cruising speed, the ski is fun. At warp speed, the ski is amazing. Simple as that. Moguls, bumps, crud, pillows, it flies over anything and delivers stability and confidence. The rockers and sidecuts make the ski pretty agile and allow hard chargers to shred with style. You’ll have more fun on that ski during one day that you’ve had with your old planks in one year. Get ready for a blast, the Pettitor rocks!

Who is the K2 Pettitor designed for?

The Pettitor is made for expert skiers who ride the modern way and lay tricks anywhere they can in the backcountry. The ski is a promodel and requires high technical and physical skills. It’ll take you some time to reach its limits!

What are the main assets of the K2 Pettitor?

All-terrain breaking power

Structure - Construction

  • Fir/Poplar core  :

K2's Adventure skis use an Aspen/Paulownia blend core. Lower-density Aspen and even lighter-weight Paulownia allow us to reduce the weight that results from the added surface area of wider skis. In addition, the Bio Core is 15% lighter than the fir/aspen blend traditional in our all-mountain skis.

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

  • TwinTech  :

This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Rocker - Camber

  • Powder Rocker  :

This tip has the most elevation and longest measurement of Rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions.

Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.

  • Swap Base  :

The bases of these skis can come in two different color ways, depending of how the colors are swapped on the base. This gives two looks to the same ski, and ensures you are not rocking the exact same pair as your buddy who just picked up the same pair of skis.

  • Tapered Tip  :

The widest point of the tip is further back on the ski, which reduces the weight of the tip and the resistance of it in soft snow.
