Remember the movie The Performers released in 1970 by K2? Since then, the brand has always pushed riders and backed them up with solid skis. These last few years, Sean Pettit, jointly with K2’s engineers, designed the Shreditor series which became an icon in the world of freestyle/backcountry.

What can the K2 Shreditor 92 do?

In between freeride and freestyle, the Shreditor 92 is K2’s multitasker. The ski handles anything the mountain throws at it and it handles it with style. Carve groomers, reach the terrain park and end up somping pillows, the ski does it all. It steers and floats with fluidity thanks to the full rockered profile and delivers an enjoyable smooth feel on deep powder. It’s also super playful and turns into a go-fast toy in the park where it’ll stomp any line from green to black with style and ease. Moreover, the ABSorb technology helps dampening your ride and makes landings easier and smoother without compromising the crispy pop of the ski. On groomers it provides tons of underfoot support and grips hard. Skiers with a bit of technique shouldn’t have any problem to make the ski carve.

Who is the K2 Shreditor 92 designed for?

The Shreditor 92 is an all-terrain performer. With a waist at 92mm, it delivers consistent greatness in all conditions. It is a good pick for intermediate or advanced skiers looking for ultimate versatility.

What are the main assets of the K2 Shreditor 92?

Edge control in variable conditions

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Structure - Construction

  • ABSorb - ABS/Urethane hybrid sidewalls  :

This horizontal sidewall construction sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings and blows to the rider. The urethane is only used under foot to maximize the dampening but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and control.

  • Fir/Poplar core  :

K2's Adventure skis use an Aspen/Paulownia blend core. Lower-density Aspen and even lighter-weight Paulownia allow us to reduce the weight that results from the added surface area of wider skis. In addition, the Bio Core is 15% lighter than the fir/aspen blend traditional in our all-mountain skis.

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

  • TwinTech  :

This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90 degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse.

Rocker - Camber

  • All-Terrain Rocker  :

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

  • Tip and Tail rivets  :

K2 introduced tip and tail rivets 7 years ago on the Factory Series skis. They were functionally developed for additional protection, reinforcing the tip and tail of the ski against delamination. Although function is still the primary purpose, K2 has evolved the rivets and plates into stylized components.

  • Swap Base  :

The bases of these skis can come in two different color ways, depending of how the colors are swapped on the base. This gives two looks to the same ski, and ensures you are not rocking the exact same pair as your buddy who just picked up the same pair of skis.

  • Tapered Tip  :

The widest point of the tip is further back on the ski, which reduces the weight of the tip and the resistance of it in soft snow.
