The Talkbak 80 is a women-specific touring ski that's ultra light. The secret lies in the paulownia woodcore which is one of the lightest woods available on the planet. Compared to its bigger brothers (Talkback 96 and Talkback 88), the Talkback 80 is skinnier and lighter which makes it a better climber.

What can the K2 Talkback 80 do?

With 1120g per ski, the Talkback 80 is light is the least we can say. Perfectly suited for those who want to discover the joys of touring, or those who want a ski that performs best through ascents, the Talkback 80 is a climber. Be ready to lead the group towards the summit and get used to it. You should reach the top long before them all, and still have time to take your skins off, relax and take a quick sunbath. The ski is a great partner for long tours of several days, it helps saving energy and we all know how important it is to still feel fresh when it's time for skiing down. Talking about skiing, the Talkback 80 is a decent performer. Its waist is not overly wide but it's wide enough to support you on powder. The rocker does a very good job at keeping you afloat and gives the ski an impressive agility. On harder snow, the ski holds its own and travels through crud snow painlessly. The 15m turning radius allows for variable turn lengths enabling you to play with the terrain. Definitely a good ski.

Who is the Talkback 80 designed for?

Touring ski designed for women with an intermediate or advanced level who focus on the uphill bits of their tour. The ski is light, very light, and versatile enough to deal with all snow conditions.

Structure - Construction

  • Carbon Web  :

The Mod structure is wrapped by carbon fiber. The carbon stringers are oriented with a precise angle in order to increase resistance to torsion on the secondary core. That delivers a lighter ski that will stay solid against torsion where it's needed.

  • Paulownia core  :

Paulownia is an eco-friendly tree cause it grows and renws itself very quickly. On top of that, it has excellent strength and lightweight characteristics.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • All-Terrain Rocker  :

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • Snophobic Top Sheets  :

Since snow collecting on the ski can add pounds to a climb, our SnoPhobic tops keeps you light with a new snow-repellent topsheet. The running surface along the bottom of a ski is hydrophobic by design, so we’ve developed a thinner version of the same material to use on the BackSide model-specific topsheets.
