Alpine Ski Movement Vertex

Ski sold without binding.

The Vertex returns in Movement catalogue for 2018! This touring ski features all the technologies from the brand to explore the mountain from top to bottom. It is super light with only 1350g in 177cm and combines a wood and carbon construction offering both lightweight and reactivity. These skis boast the ABS and VA-tech technologies to absorb vibrations with a rubber layer that protects from shocks. The ABS sidewalls reduce drammatically chatter for added comfort on challenging terrains. Movement also reinforced the ski on the anchor points with a fiberglass plate to prevent the bindings from tearing the ski apart.

What can the Movement Vertex ski do?

The key of the Vertex ski’s success is undoubtedly its versatility. With it on your feet, you can switch playgrounds as much as you want! Enjoyable on piste thanks to sidecuts ensuring reactivity and grip, the 84mm wide waist also ensures support and floatation on softer snow. If the ski mirrors a pure alpine ski on groomers with snap edge to edge transfers, it also feels like a solid freerider thanks to its rockered profile offering an effortless manoeuvrability on soft snow. Super lightweight, the Vertex is the ideal partner for short and long tours out in the mountain!

Who is the Movement Vertex ski designed for?

This model is intended for advanced skiers who are looking for skis able to handle the entire mountain! From the trails to the peak and the other way around, the Vertex is what you need.

Structure - Construction

  • ASA
  • CTS Light  :

The new 3D light cap ABS sidewall is unique in the way that the ABS runs through to the wood core of the ski and works also as a form of reinforcement. This system also offers a weight gain over the classic CTS which why it is integrated in to the Free Touring and Freeride ranges.

  • Double Plate Reinforcement  :

Movement has developed a system using 2 pre-treated fiber gass plates of differing sizes on top of each other inserted in to the binding zones to improve the flex of the skis, but also to improve the hold of the binding itself

  • Dynamic Light Tri-Axial Fiber  :

This structure delivers a stiff flex and resists to torsion. It is lighter than the standard tri-axial.

  • Poplar Core  :

Wood is alive, strong and resilient, and guarantees the ski’s continued resilience and longevity. MOVEMENT skis use only PURE wood cores; no synthetic or composite synthetic/wood cores (wood with injected foam) – (except kids skis). These cores are shaped from the most select materials, and are very accurately calibrated for the optimum result. We certify that the origin of our wood cores are FSC or PEFC. We have eliminated in our wood core assembly process the use of toxic adhesives.

  • VA-TECH  :

The VATECH system is a layer of vibration-dampening rubber inserted under the binding, for better edge grip and a smoother ride. The NOSE VATECH system replaces the ABS plate on skis with a tip wider than 135 mm. This rubber layer smoothes the ride and dampens vibration of extra-wide tips.

  • Carbon 2-Axis  :

This reduces weight and increases performance in difficult snow conditions. partial torsion-resistant and perfect comfort in general.

  • P-Tex base 4000 1.3mm  :

High density base for a better performance and a longer lasting base.
