Description

Developed in Salomon's secret research lab and hard to find in the retail, this is the brand new Salomon freeride ski, the MTN LAB. With a waist sizing from 114 to 115mm depending on the ski length, the ski is super wide and designed to explore the ungroomed. Its ultra light Koroyd core and Hook Free tapered shape combined with a flax and carbon reinforcement make the ski easy to manoeuver and provide a reassuring stiffness.

What can the Salomon MTN LAB freeride ski do?

With sidecuts like these, the MTN LAB states its intentions out loud. Ride on deep powder and hit the steeps. The front rocker coupled with a tapered shape make the ski floaty and nimble and there is not much you need to do to keep it afloat. On hard snow, the ski holds well too. Despite a super light construction it feels solid and grippy at speed. The ABS sidewalls and sandwich contruction deliver a comfortable contact feel on the snow and the ski remains stable and damp. The carbon incorporated to the structure keeps it snappy and lot lighter than traditional metallic reinforcements. Note that the ski features tail clippers for your skins in case you feel like touring.

Who is the Salomon MTN LAB freeride ski designed for?

We recommend it a advanced freeriders looking for a light yet powerful ski that performs in all conditions and can comply with touring skins.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
