Alpine Ski Salomon Q Lab

Ski sold without binding.

The Q series returns for the joy of us all. You won’t see any new skis in it though, the range is so complete there was no need to expand it anymore.  The Q Lab redefines power and versatility and delivers the best of both.

What can the Salomon Q Lab do?

This one comes straight out of Salomon’s labs and packs up all technologies available for riding through the whole mountain with peace of mind.  On piste, you can rely on its 100% S-shaped woodcore reinforced with a dual layer of titanal delivering responsiveness, grip and precision.  And if you go past the ropes, it is the honeycomb rockered tip and the 104mm waist that will back you up on the deep and provide you with floatation and agility.

Who is the Salomon Q Lab designed for?

The Q Lab is the weapon of choice of all advanced skiers who want to be able to ride any terrain and have fun doing it.  There’s nothing that can stop the Q Lab, groomed snow, crud, ice, powder, it is a powerful beast that handles and devours anything you find on your path. It is the team’s favorite by the way.

What are the main assets of the Salomon Q Lab?

Structure - Construction

  • Sandwich sidewalls  :

Sandwich sidewalls for extraordinary smooth ski/snow contact and great terrain adaptation. A MUST for Park and Pipe and performance proven in the race Milieu! Laminated sandwich sidewall construction enables to combine appropriate material layers for targeted performance.

  • Double layer of titanium laminate  :

Improved precision, enormous edge grip and maximum responsiveness.

  • 100% wood core from tip to tail  :

Provides optimum stability and powerful rebounce. Better contact ski/snow and reduces vibrations.

  • Full Wood S Core  :

Developed in the Salomon race lab, 3mm alternating laminates of poplar and ash hardwoods run the entire length of the ski giving maximum precision, stability and edge grip. This is the engine out of our tace skis

  • Honeycomb structured tips  :

Tips are ultralight and offer a better floatability. Less swing weight for added manoeuverability et more control. Better dampening and durability.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Utility Rocker  :

Optimal float and control paired with an excellent absorbtion of terrain changes

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Hook Free  :

Tapered shape, 5 point sidecuts, allows easier turn initiations on soft snow, tip and tail don't catch snow. The tip vibrates less.

  • Gentle Rise Tail  :

Gentle rise of the tail for more forgiveness and more control in all conditions
