Alpine Ski Scott Aztec Rtl

Ski sold without binding.

The Aztec was designed to open gates to a new world to skiers who never really got to lay down their own tracks. The ski is your first step on your way to the Freeride World Tour, basically. Its shape and profile allow it to perform extremely well on the groomers, and to be reactive and agile enough. If you used to carve a lot, you can still do so with the Aztec. But you can also take it onto the white room and experience the surfy feel everyone's talking about. Its rockered tip and its 78mm waist are enough support to keep you afloat on the ungroomed. The Aztecs are an excellent way to enjoy more of the mountain without sacrificing any side of it.

What our testers say: The main asset of the Aztec is its user-friendliness. Scott wanted to offer to intermediate skiers the opportunity to go tackle their first powdery slopes without sacrificing the alpine abilities of the ski. Advanced and expert skiers may like the softness of the ski but they will rapidly reach its limits...unless you're planning to go touring. In this case, the Aztec's a safe bet, its all-snow versatility and its lightweight are very enjoyable when the path points uphill.

Structure - Construction

  • Woodcore with double titanial  :

Woodcores - used since ever in the ski industry - offers great performance. They provide stability and rebound, eliminate vibrations and are extremely durable.

Titanial is a metallic alloy including aluminium. It gives precision, grip, smoothness and stability on all terrains.

  • SSC Tit - Sandwich Sidewall Construction Titanal  :

Sandwich construction with sidewall, titanial reinforcements and cap finish.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Pro Tip 350 mm  :

By incorporating a progressive tip height radius, SCOTT skis simply track better than the competition. SCOTT's Pro-Tip produces a more consistent ski flex and predictable turns. Pro-Tip is available in three heights 300mm (Precision On-Piste), 350mm (All-Mountain) and 375mm (Full Freeride). Tip Rocker 350 mm.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • Dual Radius  :

Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. SCOTT skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. By incorporating the Dual Radius concept, the ski can turn when you want it to turn, resulting in a more versatile ski which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

  • Pre Track  :

When developing Pre-Track, SCOTT designed skis with wide tips and/or slightly turned up tails. With Pre-Track, SCOTT skis employ a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. The result is a more precise, stable, reliable and versatile ski.

  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.
