Alpine Ski Scott Black Majic

Ski sold without binding.

Scott unveils their new Sun Valley lineup, including all-terrain skis blending innovation and performance wrapped in a vintage look.

What can the Scott Black Majic do?

Do we really need to introduce the Black Majic again? It has been raising the bar very high in the past seasons and it seems like it’s going to do it again for 2016. It is a super powerful piste-oriented ski suited for hard charging skiers. Built to deliver high torsional stiffness, the ski rolls into turns and bites on groomed snow real hard. It rails through the turns with a ridiculous ease and carvers will get a blast playing with it on the steeps. It profile offers a rock-solid stability and high energy returns out of turns allowing skiers to jump into the next turns without losing speed. The ski features 3D sidecuts meaning you can vary your turn length as you like, according to your mood or to the snow conditions. Of course, there is a price to pay for it. The ski is demanding and you will need skills for taming it but it’s well worth it!

Who is the Scott Black Majic designed for?

Great ski for advanced and expert skiers who like to ski hard and fast. The Black Majic is made for carving on hard snow. The higher the speed, the greater the fun.

What are the main assets of the Scott Black Majic ?

Energy return

Structure - Construction

  • Tip to tail woodcore  :

The long woodcore gives the ski a more consistent flex and more fluidity through transitions.

  • Sandwich construction with slanted sidewalls and elliptic laminates  : FORGIVENESS & VERSATILITY - SSCL combines a laminate top and bottom sheet with a traditional sandwich sidewall construction. SCOTT optimized material usage to provide a construction that drastically reduces the weight of the ski. Specific braiding and different combinations of laminates guarantee the best possible construction for their intended use.
  • SSCL TIT E  : AGILITY & PRECISION - SCOTT`s Elliptical Sandwich construction is paired with a titanal top and bottom sheet, providing exceptional torsional stiffness and precise edge control.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Pro Tip 300 mm  :

By incorporating a progressive tip height radius, SCOTT skis simply track better than the competition. SCOTT's Pro-Tip produces a more consistent ski flex and predictable turns. Pro-Tip is available in three heights 300mm (Precision On-Piste), 350mm (All-Mountain) and 375mm (Full Freeride). Tip Rocker 300mm

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • 3D Sidecut  :

Revolutionary technology combining 2 radius with a central straight sidecut, allowing twin rocker skis to be brilliant on off pist with an excellent edge grip on pistes.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

  • Pre Track  :

When developing Pre-Track, SCOTT designed skis with wide tips and/or slightly turned up tails. With Pre-Track, SCOTT skis employ a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. The result is a more precise, stable, reliable and versatile ski.
