Alpine Ski Volkl 100Eight

Ski sold without binding.

Flat camber, dual rocker and directional shape make the Volkl 100Eight's DNA. A freeride-oriented ski suited for powder days. The 100Eight is 108mm wide at the waist and comes with a light 3D construction enhancing agility. Carbon stringers are there to keep the ski stiff and responsive.

What can the Volkl 100Eight freeride ski do?

If the ski can cope with piste or hard snow as long as it's not ice, it's not its favourite playground. As you probably know, 100+-waisted skis perform far better on powder and in the backcountry. And that's what the 100Eight is made for. Leave tracks on the untouched, ride down the fall line and float through the deep laying long and stylish turns. The ski feels really nimble despite its width, it's lively and it pivots instantly which you'll appreciate if you come across a few trees to slalom through. The light construction makes the ski effortless to manage and even usable with touring bindings if you like seeking remote spots.

Who is the Volkl 100Eight freeride ski designed for?

This freeride ski is primarily intended for advanced skiers looking for a powder/pleasure ski.

What are the main assets of the Volkl 100Eight freeride ski?

Powder floatation

Light considering its width

Structure - Construction

  • 3D. Ridge  : It has become a symbol of Völkl lightweight construction. The distinctive characteristic of this technology is a raised central ridge that sharply levels out toward the edge, both in front of and behind the binding. This reduces the inertial mass around the fulcrum to a minimum and significantly enhances the agility of the ski. At the same time, the center ridge allows for a precise dimensioning of the hardness distribution, which leads to an especially harmonious flex on the ski. Despite the weight savings, the 3D.RIDGE ensures that there is no compromise whatsoever in the ski‘s durability and elasticity.
  • Carbon Stringer  :

Specific construction ensuring exceptional lightweight, consistent flex and an optimal weight/torsional stiffness ratio.

  • Full Sidewall  :

Strength and efficiency. A simple process you can always count on.

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

Technology

  • Full Rocker  :

The running length of the edge can vary at the fore part of the ski. The rocker rises moderately. The running length under the binding provides an efficient floatation better than the one found on wider skis.
