Alpine Ski Volkl Racetiger Speedwall GS R

Ski sold without binding.

Watch out, don't let the Racetiger bite! These racing skis have one mission, beat every single speed record of the resort. With this GS version you get a ski that can lay long turns for Giant Slaloms.

What can the Völkl Racetiger Speedwall GS D do?

Lock in your turn and rail it like a lord. With these skis, carving with high precision feels natural and easy, no matter how steep the slope is. The Racetiger GS D is a speed seeker, with its 68mm waist width, edge to edge transfers are quick and the ski feels super lively under the feet. It grips really hard on groomed snow and feels great at high speed. You can push as hard as you can the ski won't let you down. It comes with a sandwich construction and a titanal reinforced woodcore making it as powerful as a super hero. Völkl clearly did not want to make any compromise on this ski. They aimed for performance, not for forgiveness. For hard chargers only.

Who is the Völkl Racetiger Speedwall GS D designed for?

It is a demanding ski that requires high technical skills. Advanced and expert racers will enjoy it, other skiers should pick something more forgiving. It is a ski made for riding fast on groomed snow and nothing else.

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Noyau Full Sensor Wood Core  :

In the Full Sensor Wood Core construction a compact wooden core is integrated from the ski tip to the ski tail providing power and energy along the entire ski's length. The result is optimum support and responsiveness for skiers with a good feeling for the snow and slopes and seek intuitive feedback from their skis. This wood core is used in the UNLIMITED and TIGER ski ranges and in some of the Freeski models.

  • Power Construction  :

Völkl’s longest-running construction, Power Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip and stability when combined with the Sensorwood core.

  • Powered by Titanium  :

The top-of-the-line models in the VÖLKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system - all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminium alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds.

  • Speed Wall  :

Völkl reinvents a historic construction and takes it to the next level with the new Speedwall technology. Modern ski designs and today's race courses involve spending more time on the sidewalls and edges. Völkl engineers siezed an opportunity to make faster skis we view the sidewalls not just as lateral boundaries, but a continuation of the surface in contact with the snow. We make Speedwall sidewall material out of a proprietary composite sintered base material Speedwall sidewalls can be waxed, just like the bases. In racing, that means less friction and more speed!

  • UVO  :

UVO (Ultimate Vibration Object) is the first application of a free-floating, 360 degree vibration technology. Vibration inherently arises when skis interact with the snow surface. The ski‘s tip, in particular, is set in motion in all directions, all at once. UVO technology delivers proven reduction of these vibrations, for a quieter ride. The key difference between UVO and other damping systems is the fact that in addition to longitudinal vibrations, it also addresses torsional and lateral vibrations. After 40 or 50 better-controlled turns, one can imagine the time savings.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.
