Description
New in the Rossignol Skin range, this X-IUM R-Skin IFP is a compromise between Sport oriented skiing and pure competition skiing. An amalgam of technologies that makes a comfortable and high-performance ski ideal for technical progress and long classic sport-oriented outings.
What are the characteristics of the Rossignol X-IUM R-Skin IFP cross-country ski?
The X-IUM is the basis of the entire racing programme developed by Rossignol over the last twenty years. Now relayed as the brand's third ski with the successive releases of the WCS and Premium, it has evolved over time towards a programme more oriented towards the classic sport excluding competition. On this model, the Nomex shell is sandwiched between two layers of fibreglass. As far as construction is concerned, this ensures lightness and correct dynamism which provides maximum tolerance to the ski. The Activ'Cap external structure combined with the shell provides excellent guarantees in terms of off-track ski navigation and stability. The control of the ski in the technical and downhill sections is admirable. The R-Skin system, as its name suggests, is a very good compromise between grip and glide. The ski is at ease in difficult sections but still requires correct support to prevent the ski from regressing. The K 7000 sole, which is the brand's second quality sole, has a cold multi-purpose structure. It is therefore perfect for rather common snow conditions between 0 and -7°C. Like all Rossignol skis since 2017, it is fitted with IFP mounting plates. These plates are only adaptable to Turnamic bindings, compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boot standards. In terms of sensations, this X-IUM R-Skin is a very good compromise to understand the classic technique in its sporting aspect, to work on the simple support, the pace of steps and the extension of the gliding phases.
Who is the Rossignol X-IUM R-Skin IFP cross-country ski intended for?
It is particularly recommended for skiers who already have experience of classic cross-country skiing and who wish to take the next step with a model that is closer to racing skis. It ensures a remarkable glide quality and provides a very appreciable grip comfort. It is also a very interesting quality/price ratio in its category.
