Alpine Ski Apo Ron

If you think only shamen can levitate, you're missing something. Here's the Ron, it doesn't ride, it flies over the snow. With a 120mm waist and a double rocker, you'll be soaring over the slopes and over any obstacle the mountain throws at you. And if the double rocker helps to float, it also enhances the agility of the ski, and allows for easy pivot on the deep. Camber-wise, we go for a classic underfoot one, which has only one mission, provide grip, stability and responsiveness, and that's very welcome when the slope you're skiing is close to being vertical!

What our testers say : A massive beast with 120mm at the waist (for the 190cm model) designed for jumping over the cliffs and land switch on the bottomless powder. Be careful though, the double rocker does make it easier to ride, but it still won't suit beginners. We do recommend it to expert skiers who know how to ski hard and fast down the steepest untracked slopes.

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 4700gr en 181cm

Structure - Construction

  • 2D Dual Fiberglass  :

The multiple layers of 2D fibre create a light ski with perfect torsional balance. Edge grip is precise and the ski very nimble.

  • PB Performance Core  :

The PB Performance core is reinforced by two strips of beech. This robust and responsive core provides stable and dynamic edge grip.

Camber type

  • W-Rocker Camber  :

The ski is cambered in the middle section and features symmetrical rockers at the tips. The ski is more stable at high speeds and enables betters floatability in powder snow.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Stone Ground  :

Stone ground bases glide much better on wet snow thanks to the structure which enables the water drops to escape quicker under the board.

  • Sintered 4000 Base  :

The higher molecular density makes these bases the reference in terms of durability and gliding performance, especially on very cold snow. Be sure to wax your base often to get the most out of it.

Ski Binding Atomic STH2 N 16 WTR B130 Black Orange

The Atomic STH² 16 WTR is a low-built freeski binding – built specially for wide powder and park & pipe skis. Its high-impact steel housing stands up against the most punishing skiing, while the shock-absorbing Progressive Transfer Pads cushion the hardest landings. The Oversized Platform enables you to transfer more power to the ski while the self-retracting Freeski Brakes come into their own on switch landings and in soft snow, eliminating hang-ups and drag on powder. The height-adjustable STH² 16 WTR is compatible with WTR soles, and stepping into the binding is easy even in deep powder. Finally, a maximum release value of 16 makes this the ideal binding for aggressive skiers.
