Alpine Ski Black Crows Nocta

The Nocta’s reputation is already made. Everyone knows that Black Crows masters the art of making big mountain skis designed for bottomless powder shredding. The 2018 Nocta comes with new graphics but hides inside the very same soul as its predecessors. This includes a fat 122mm waist, a reverse camber and two rockers providing natural float. Top this all up with a paulownia woodcore and you get a powerful beast with a light body.

What can the Black Crows Nocta ski do?

If you look at its sidecuts then you know what the ski can do. The Nocta is a powder-specific ski, a big mountain gun designed to lay tracks on the deep. Do not buy it if you spend your time on piste. The ski works ok on hard snow and feels stable enough but it is definitely not its cup of tea. The ski is happy when the snow is soft and fluffy. It is the ultimate backcountry shred stick, suited for Japan’s bottomless pow, Alaska’s steeps and crazy lines in the Alps. The Nocta floats and moves through fresh powder with a natural ease and delivers so much pleasure it is almost indecent.

Who is the Black Crows Nocta big mountain ski designed for?

It is a big ski suited for advanced or expert freeskiers. A ski with two rockers and a full reverse camber to give you the best powder experience ever.

What are the main assets of the Black Crows Nocta freeski?

Powder float

Playfulness

Agility

Ski Binding Atomic STH2 N 16 WTR B130 Black Orange

The Atomic STH² 16 WTR is a low-built freeski binding – built specially for wide powder and park & pipe skis. Its high-impact steel housing stands up against the most punishing skiing, while the shock-absorbing Progressive Transfer Pads cushion the hardest landings. The Oversized Platform enables you to transfer more power to the ski while the self-retracting Freeski Brakes come into their own on switch landings and in soft snow, eliminating hang-ups and drag on powder. The height-adjustable STH² 16 WTR is compatible with WTR soles, and stepping into the binding is easy even in deep powder. Finally, a maximum release value of 16 makes this the ideal binding for aggressive skiers.
