Alpine Ski Black Diamond Boundary 100

The Boundary series by Black Diamond are real powder hounds. They are constantly looking for untracked slopes and sick spots covered with pow. Agile and powerful, these freeride beasts were derived in three different widths. You pick the one you like!

What can the Black Diamond Boundary 100 do?

With just 100mm at the waist, the Boundary 100 is the ‘smallest one’ of the Boundary skis and therefore the most versatile one. As efficient on as off piste, it will adapt to every snow conditions and every need of yours. If it’s been snowing all night and you’re in the mood of slashing some turns outside the resort, no problem, the Boundary 100 turns into an exceptional freerider. If needed, you can even fit the ski with touring bindings, it’s light enough to climb slopes with skins on. The tip and tail rockers enhance agility and make every turn predictable and effortless to initiate. But beyond powder performance the ski holds its own on harder terrains and delivers an enjoyable reactivity thanks to its traditional camber. Great ski for riding powder and variable conditions.

Who is the Black Diamond Boundary 100 designed for?

With a pretty forgiving flex pattern, the ski will be best suited for intermediates and advanced skiers looking for a versatile freerider. Great on powder and efficient on piste, the Boundary 100 is an enjoyable mid-fat ski that’ll take you to the next level.

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3900 (172cm)

Structure - Construction

  • 3D Sandwich  :

The 3D Sandwich technology offers the best geometry possible to help you on demanding torsion.

  • Pre-preg fibreglass  :

This technology allows to control precisely the amount of epoxy resin used in each ski and helps maximising durability and stiffness. You get a lighter ski with the same durability, precision and skaibility.

  • Poplar core  :

A good balance of pop (i.e., energy return) with a classic, smooth feel.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Rocker  :

Rocker isn't designed only for powder anymore. It is a versatile tool helping on turn inititations, soft turns, and changing radius. The rocker provides wide skis with agility, and narrow skis with floatation. Depending on how the rocker rises, the ski delivers different performance. Black Diamond has sorted their skis into 3 categories : Rocker, Semi-Rocker and Traditional.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • Semi rockered tail  :

the rocker rises between 151 and 275mm.

Various

  • Skin Lock  :

    Slot for touring skins.
