Candide Thovex Signature Series 2018

Présentation de la gamme Candide 2018

Alpine Ski Faction Candide 4.0

Do we really need to introduce the Candide 4.0? You must have seen it on Candide Thovex’ feet many times if you watch his videos. For those who really don’t know, the ski is a stiff twin-tip shred stick featuring two big rockers and a small camber underfoot. Add to this a generous 118mm platform and you know there is nothing that will stop you on the mountain.

What can the 2018 Faction Candide 4.0 ski do?

Those who have watched the ‘One of those days’ edits know what the ski can do. Those who haven’t, we strongly recommend you check them out on Youtube. The Candide 4.0 is a powderhound coupled with a trick machine. It was designed to link backflips and triple corks on the backside of the mountain, hence the stiff construction keeping stable on the most complex terrains. From the steepest and scariest freeride lines to the craziest freestyle runs in the backcountry, the 4.0 does it all with style. If you want to learn how to use the ski properly, you should hit La Clusaz next season and try to follow Candide, he’ll show you the way. Just make sure you’re riding fast enough to jump over the chopper!

Who is the Faction Candide 4.0 ski designed for?

This ski of legend is suited for the most experienced freeskiers who want power and floatation from their skis. The Candide 4.0 is a powder performer that’s going to give you a blast.

What are the main assets of the Faction Candide 4.0 freeski?

Power

Liveliness

Ultimate floatation

Structure - Construction

  • Poplar & Ash Core  :

A poplar core with ash "stringers" is used for their complimentary characteristics of dampness and responsiveness. Used on the bulk of the skis, this together with fiberglass above and below the core provide a smooth feel and control in all snow conditions.

  • Titanal Plates  :

Titanal plates secure the binding screws. The one-piece design fits most touring bindings with centre screws.

Rocker - Camber

  • 1mm Camber  :

Easier turn initiations on piste, added reactivity off piste

Various

  • Medium Stiff Flex  :

The ski flex is carefully chosen after hour-long tests in every possible conditions. Thanks to the program Rider-Centric, the flex used is set according to the sidecut radius and the ski size in order to provide the best possible performance.

  • Micro-Cap Protection  :

In continuing their efforts to improve chip-resistance in their skis, Faction has incorporated a ‘micro’ cap where the topsheet meets the sidewall on their sandwich construction skis.
