Alpine Ski K2 AMP Charger

Greens, blues, reds or blacks you name it. The AMP Charger by K2 deals with all colours the resort has to offer, it is a performance driven ski designed for skiers who ride hard and fast.

What can the K2 AMP Charger do?

Make sure your goggles are safely attached on your helmet...The AMP Charger is a...charger, you guessed that. It's like having a ski on steroids. No matter haw fast you ride, you get a rock solid stability and a mindblowing edge traction. It features a light rocker through the tip enhancing the ski's agility. Turn entries are smoother than silk and turn exits are super aggressive! The ski is light and comes with a modern poplar and paulownia core offering tons of reactivity to skiers who most need it. Just make sure you warned your friends cause you may take the first lift with them but it's the last time they see you until the night pub.

Who is the K2 AMP Charger designed for?

An excellent choice for skiers with an advanced or expert level looking for a powerful and lively ski that is less demanding than it looks.

What are the main assets of the K2 AMP Charger?

Structure - Construction

  • Carbon Web  :

The Mod structure is wrapped by carbon fiber. The carbon stringers are oriented with a precise angle in order to increase resistance to torsion on the secondary core. That delivers a lighter ski that will stay solid against torsion where it's needed.

  • Hybritech sidewalls  :

This wider-waisted construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Offered exclusively on the Side series, Hybritech makes skis strong, accurate and powerful underfoot, while maintaining smooth initiation and easy exits from turns.

  • Poplar/Paulownia core  :

K2's Adventure skis use an Aspen/Paulownia blend core. Lower-density Aspen and even lighter-weight Paulownia allow us to reduce the weight that results from the added surface area of wider skis. In addition, the Bio Core is 15% lighter than the fir/aspen blend traditional in our all-mountain skis.

  • RoX Technology  :

Until the RoX, high performance skis designed for hard snow were very stiff and sturdy, to ensure an optimum edge grip. The stiffness prevented the ski from being forgiving and made it difficult to initiate turns.

By focusing on Speed Rocker benefits combined to specific MOD geometries and Carbon Web position, K2 created the RoX technology, the new standard for their skis designed for hard snow. It provides an incredible edge hold while turns are much easier to initiate.

  • Metal Laminate Technology  :

Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

  • Mod Technology  :

High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Speed Rocker  :

This slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provides effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power, and edge-hold.

Simply put, Speed Rocker offers high performance precision and edge hold on firm snow.

  • K2/MX System  :

Working in conjunction with the integrated hubs, the Marker K2/MX provides unmatched precision and control on our highest-end A.M.P. models. The system uses Marker’s Inter-Pivot Heel technology and new light-weight Triple-Pivot Comfort MX toe for an even wider footprint than the previous MX. This new toe comes with a cross mounted spring, stainless steel AFD and backward release function.
