Alpine Ski K2 FulLUVit 98 Ti

No more Potions and magic recipes, 2016 is under the light of love at K2 with this new line of skis replacing the Potion series and now called the ‘Luv’ series. They cover the all-mountain needs of all women skiers out there. The FulLUVit 98 Ti is the successor of the Potion 98 Ti.

What can the K2 FulLUVit 98Ti do?

Here is the new fat ski from K2 for aspiring women freeriders who live and breathe for deep powder. Get  your heart ready cause you’ll surely have it melting for the ski. Featuring a new Bioflex core and the Channel Light Core technology, it delivers the smoothest glide ever with outstanding consistency whatever the terrain.
Its shape and profile offer great manoeuverability while the metal added in the construction provides underfoot power and reactivity.
With it on their feet, even the most demanding freeriders will have what they need to express their style. Whether you need a tool to shred steep pillow fields or something to help you get down icy couloirs, the FulLUVit delivers.
Its 98mm waist keeps you planing over surface and busts through crud with an effortless ease. Nothing can resist the FulLuvit, not even you, so don’t try, just let it go…

Who is the K2 FulLUVit 98Ti designed for?

K2 designed it with sporty freeriders in mind. The FulLuvit is the ultimate powder ski for advanced or expert women who like it when it’s not groomed.

What are the main assets of the K2 FulLUVit 98Ti?

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Channel Light Core  :

Channels are grooved through the length of the ski to remove unwanted materials for a smoother flex, added ease and better control. Staying true to a women's specific approach, the Bioflex core and metal laminate are focused more strongly on the perimeter of the skis to maintain power, strength and stability.

  • Hybritech sidewalls  :

This wider-waisted construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight and smooth turn initiation of cap construction. Offered exclusively on the Side series, Hybritech makes skis strong, accurate and powerful underfoot, while maintaining smooth initiation and easy exits from turns.

  • Bioflex core  :

Working with the Alliance Team to further develop our line of women's specific skis has lead to the Bioflex core, a breakthrough multi-wood core technology. Used on our T:Nine series of skis, the combination of two distinctly different woods, fir and spruce, provides a blend of stability and forgiveness in our women's skis. Not just different layers of wood, but completely different cores fused together at the tip and tail. Spruce, a light, soft wood is used in the extremities of the tip and tail and fir, a more solid, dense wood is used underfoot. The Spruce provides easy turn initiation, lightweight characteristics, and overall ease that T:Nine skis have come to be known for. The Fir underfoot provides a new level of confidence inspiring control, predictability and stability. The beauty of the Bioflex core is that it produces a lighter weight core which translates into skis that are easier to maneuver and causes less fatigue than a comparable men's size and model. The Bioflex core can also be tuned to the performance level of the ski. The Burnin' Luv and True Luv both share a Bioflex core, but the flex and performance levels differs dramatically.

  • Poplar/Paulownia/Bamboo core  :

K2's Adventure skis use an Aspen/Paulownia blend core. Lower-density Aspen and even lighter-weight Paulownia allow to reduce the weight that results from the added surface area of wider skis. In addition, the Bio Core is 15% lighter than the fir/aspen blend traditional in our all-mountain skis.

  • Metal Laminate Technology  :

Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

  • Triaxial braiding  :

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • All-Terrain Rocker  :

All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.

Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • Tapered Tip  :

The widest point of the tip is further back on the ski, which reduces the weight of the tip and the resistance of it in soft snow.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel
  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
