Présentation des skis MOVEMENT 2016 gamme ALL MOUNTAIN par Jérémie, conseiller ski chez Glisshop.com

Alpine Ski Movement Player

There goes Movement piste/all-mountain line of skis again. Redesigned to deliver more lightweight and more performance on the slopes, the skis return for another season. Suited for all skiers, all styles and all levels.

What can the Movement Player do?

Remember the Jam? The Player is its direct successor and features many specs that made the Jam a good ski. For instance, it comes with the same rockered tip making turn initiations smoother and effortless. However, the waist of the Player is one millimeter wider and its turning radius gets 1m shorter making the ski livelier and more agile. It’s got a solid edge grip even at high speed and it delivers excellent rebound and fast accelerations out of turns. And if you have in mind off-piste sessions and powder ripping, you have a card to play with the Player. The versatility delivered is absolutely stunning and the ski shreds on every terrain the mountain has to offer. It floats naturally on powder and busts through crud with ease. It offers a smooth and lively character and was clearly a testers’ favorite. They tried pushing harder and harder without finding the ski’s limits.

Who is the Movement Player designed for?

Suited for intermediate skiers looking for a ski enhancing progression and allowing to work on technical moves. It’s also a very good match for advanced skiers who need something easy to manage and versatile so they can enjoy skiing and focus on the slope rather than on the ski.

What are the main assets of the Movement Player?

Performance

Edge control

Liveliness

Structure - Construction

  • CTS Sandwich Technology  :

This technology has been specifically made by Movement Skis, it's applying the Sandwich construction which delivers perfect torsion blocking. On each side of the ski, angle is added to fiberglass which allows a 100% block where the ABS reaches the Cap finish.

  • Dynamic Tri-Axial Fiber  :

This structure provides stiff flex and resists to torsion.

  • Noyau Okume Poplar + Power Rail Beech Composite  :

Wood is alive, strong and resilient, and guarantees the ski’s continued resilience and longevity. MOVEMENT skis use only PURE wood cores; no synthetic or composite synthetic/wood cores (wood with injected foam) – (except kids skis). These cores are shaped from the most select materials, and are very accurately calibrated for the optimum result. We certify that the origin of our wood cores are FSC or PEFC. We have eliminated in our wood core assembly process the use of toxic adhesives.

Okoume and poplar core + beech reinforcements of the internal composite Power rail sidewalls, which provides more power and edge precision.

  • VA-TECH  :

The VATECH system is a layer of vibration-dampening rubber inserted under the binding, for better edge grip and a smoother ride. The NOSE VATECH system replaces the ABS plate on skis with a tip wider than 135 mm. This rubber layer smoothes the ride and dampens vibration of extra-wide tips.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Tip Light Rocker  :

Easier turn initiations and added floatation

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • P-Tex base 4000 1.3mm  :

High density base for a better performance and a longer lasting base.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
