ROSSIGNOL - Présentation Experience 2015

Added on 2014-10-28

Présentation de la gamme "all mountain" pour homme de Rossignol : les Experience.

Alpine Ski Rossignol Experience 80 Xe

Well, it seems that the Air tip technology developed in 2014 for the Soul 7 and Super 7 was successful. Rossignol is now using it on its entire all-mountain lineup. That includes the Experience series for men and the Temptation series for women. The idea is to provide skiers with versatile skis combining ease of use and all-terrain performance.

The Experience 80 features a Maxi Cap construction and a woodcore ensuring liveliness and natural flexibility. It also gives the ski a forgiving feel and saves your energy. The rockered tip and tail offer predictable turns and all-snow versatility while the Extended Sidecuts technology makes the ski grippy at higher speed and loose at lower speeds.

What our testers say : Playful and easy to use, this is the ideal partner for effortless days of skiing. Perfectly suited to recreational skiing, you may not become a pro racer or a freerider with it, but you'll definitely have fun through the resort. Excellent choice.

Structure - Construction

  • Air Tip  : A Patented Technology exclusive to Rossignol! The tip is air filled for maximum lightness and constructed to retain maximum torsional rigidity. The ski's weight is redistributed, freeing the tip and tail of the ski and providing greater ease, security and versatility. The fact that the center of gravity is closer to the center of the ski concentrates strength under the skier's feet. THE ROCKER REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
  • Central Dualtec  :

Combining the best features of sandwich and cap construction. The cap increases the ski's durability and facilitates rebound while the traditional sidewalls underfoot produce crisp, direct edging pressure. The benefits of the combined constructions yield smooth flex and strong edging for comfortable control.

  • Sandwich Maxicap
  • Fiberglass / Wood core  :

The fiberglass structure enhances flex and stiffness, increases resistance to torsion, and improves boosts on turn exits.

The wood provides stability and rebound, eliminates vibrations, and has a great durability.

  • Light Wood (Paulownia) Core  :

Experience skis have a Paulownia woodcore. It is 30% lighter which makes the ski effortless to manoeuver.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Auto Turn Rocker  :

Rossignol's Autoturn is engineered with 70% traditional high camber underfoot while the remaining 30% of the tip and tail features low rocker. The high camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for on-piste performance. The subtle rocker tip and tail delivers easy steering, and effortless speed control for better versatility in any terrain or snow type.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • Xelium2  : The new Xelium system is 700 gramms lighter than a classic binding: skiers can now ride safely with a system ensuring performance AND lightweight.

  • Extended Sidecut  :

Oversize takes the benefits of the aggressive sidecuts of carving skis and combines it with modern waist widths. The aggressive oversized tip & tail dimensions produces strong edging, power and precision. The wider dimension of the waist increases stability and easy turn transition. Combining big sidecut with modern waist widths produces accurate edge feel and unprecedented stability.

  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.

Ski Binding Rossignol Xelium 110 B83 Black Orange

This new system is one of the lightest in the industry. Skiers can ride safely with performance without having to deal with a heavy binding. It also makes the ski easier to carry, and when you ride, the ski is more reactive and the whole riding is smoother. You can now forget about your bindings, stop worrying about your safety, and focus on enjoying the slopes.

The new Xelium by Rossignol is 700g lighter.

The XELIUM system is eco-friendly: its impact on the environment is reduced by 35% compared to traditional bindings. The amount of CO2 produced per year to make these bindings is reduced by 34%, which is worth 200 world tours by car.

Suitable for skiers with an intermediate level weighing from 45 to 110kg.

My very first black runs were on these skis - straight out the box, no problems! Great ski at a great price from Glisshop.

I saw these skis available in Scotland at a far higher price and I knew that they were good skis at a good price. My only surprise (and maybe it's just me) is that they came with the adjustable "demo" bindings as having given weight, boot size and 295mm fitting I thought the bindings were going to be pre drilled. On looking at other ski packages I note that it is clear that they will be pre-drilled and thus non returnable. However, great product, great price and exceptional delivery and packaging of the product. I cannot fault Glisshop and recommend it highly for choice and value.
