ROSSIGNOL - Présentation Experience 2015

Added on 2014-10-28

Présentation de la gamme "all mountain" pour homme de Rossignol : les Experience.

Alpine Ski Rossignol Experience 84 Carbon Dark TPX

Well, it seems that the Air tip technology developped in 2014 for the Soul 7 and Super 7 was successful. Rossignol is now using it on its entire all-mountain lineup. That includes the Experience series for men and the Temptation series for women. The idea is to provide skiers with versatile skis combining ease of use and all-terrain performance.

The Experience 84 was derived in two versions : the TPX version and the Open version. The former features a metal reinforced binding interface offering a better torsional stiffness and quicker energy transfers. The latter offers smoother performance and requires less energy from the skier. So, whether you're sporty or not, the Experience 84 provides you with all-mountain performance and effortless skiability.

What our testers say : Probably the best compromise if you're looking for ultimate versatility. A perfect ski if you can have only one pair to do it all. The ski's easy to manage, it's quite forgiving and offers a reinsuring nimble feel. It grips and carves groomers as well as it floats and slashes powder. The everyday quiver for any mountain trip.

Structure - Construction

  • Air Tip  : A Patented Technology exclusive to Rossignol! The tip is air filled for maximum lightness and constructed to retain maximum torsional rigidity. The ski's weight is redistributed, freeing the tip and tail of the ski and providing greater ease, security and versatility. The fact that the center of gravity is closer to the center of the ski concentrates strength under the skier's feet. THE ROCKER REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
  • Sandwich Maxicap
  • Light Wood (Paulownia) Core  :

Experience skis have a Paulownia woodcore. It is 30% lighter which makes the ski effortless to manoeuver.

  • Carbon reinforcement  :

    Carbon provides stiffness and lightweight.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Auto Turn Rocker  :

Rossignol's Autoturn is engineered with 70% traditional high camber underfoot while the remaining 30% of the tip and tail features low rocker. The high camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for on-piste performance. The subtle rocker tip and tail delivers easy steering, and effortless speed control for better versatility in any terrain or snow type.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Interface

  • TPX  :

A new larger metal binding-to-plate interface increases torsional stiffness which translates to stronger performance and precision. A control beam combined with Twin VAS (Visco Material) that absorbs vibrations, facilitates rebound directing pressure to the extremities. The tool-free binding simply slides on the integrated TPX system for easy adjustment.

Various

  • Extended Sidecut  :

Oversize takes the benefits of the aggressive sidecuts of carving skis and combines it with modern waist widths. The aggressive oversized tip & tail dimensions produces strong edging, power and precision. The wider dimension of the waist increases stability and easy turn transition. Combining big sidecut with modern waist widths produces accurate edge feel and unprecedented stability.

  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.

The ski's arrived on the third day of ordering which was very quick considering they were shipped from France and came bubble wrapped and in a large cardboard box.. Rossignol do an all yellow ski which is more money and my outfit is yellow and black so colour co-ordinated now. These ski's came with the bindings already attached and ready to go.Just to be on the safe side I gave them a wax and polished the edges as I noticed they were only manufacturer ground with very light striation marks on them. They were then good to go.Been with them to the Chill factor in Manchester and the moment I clipped in I new that I would not have any problem with them. The bidding was easy to get into and you did not have to press hard for activation.I got the 170 size as the next size down was 162 which would have been too small a length.Well the proof is in the pudding even on the piste slope they were firm underfoot maybe the 84 helped this and the front shovel seemed to cut through the small hillocks of built up snow like a knife on butter. My speed was also increased albeit a shot run. I tried short turns and they were very nibble. Also skied, turning with no poles and letting the skies turned on their own. Very satisfied ca't wait now for the skiing holiday to begin. Thanks Glisshop for a great price and SKIS. Great EXPERIENCE

Tried these on test in Les Coches in March and worked amazingly well (for me)!! They turn easily, they grip, they carve, they are quick (for me) a great option and should mean I only have to carry one set of skis in the future! Now, if I can get a new knee and a new back, in time for the start of the season I intend to "smash" these (for me)!!! Thank you again Rossi!!
