Alpine Ski Rossignol Hero Elite LT TI

Say goodbye to the legendary Radical series that helped Rossignol build up their notoriety. The manufacturer wipes it all and releases the Hero series as its successor. No more GS or SL skis either, skis now carry ST or LT extensions standing for Long Turns or Short Turns.

The Hero LT Elite Titanal here is a ski that makes no compromise whatsoever. Featuring the Prop Tech (longitudinal cuts into the titanal layer towards the tip), the ski becomes easier to manage and more controllable. Designed for reaching warp speed in seconds and carving long GS turns, the ski delivers outstanding performance from start to finish. Precise high speed turns and podiums' first steps are within reach with this weapon on your feet.

What our testers say : This is an incisive, aggressive and powerful ski designed for raising new champions. We tried pushing it to the limits but our legs said stop before we reached them. The ski feels incredibly stable and rolls from an edge to the other with unparalleled speed. Suited for performance-driven racers with an expert level.

Structure - Construction

  • Minicap Sandwich  :

Ultra durable construction built with wood cores, 30 degree sidewalls, fiberglass and high-tech laminates. The Mini Cap ROSSITOP to strengthens the top of the ski and is resistant to chipping for increased durability. The sidewalls of the skis are angled at a 30° incline to improve swing weight, reduce the overall weight of the ski, and enhance edging and durability.

  • Wood core  :

Woodcores - used since ever in the ski industry - offer great performance. They provide stability and rebound, eliminate vibrations and are extremely durable.

  • Prop Tech  :

Transversal ski flex release system. In response to the new turn radius regulations issued by the FIS, we have worked hard on the actual structure of the ski in a bid to improve turn initiation and make handling more enjoyable. The result is the Prop Teck Technology. The Zicral top reinforcement layer is cut lengthwise at the tip of the ski for superior power transfer and ski control. This technology is used by all our World Cup racers.

  • Fibro/metal structure  :

The fiberglass and metal structure enhances flex and stiffness, increases resistance to torsion, and improves boosts on turn exits.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Power Turn Rocker  :

High camber on 90% of the ski length delivering power and grip with an excellent contact feel. The 10% left are rockered and allow easy turn initiations and optimum control.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • TPX  :

A new larger metal binding-to-plate interface increases torsional stiffness which translates to stronger performance and precision. A control beam combined with Twin VAS (Visco Material) that absorbs vibrations, facilitates rebound directing pressure to the extremities. The tool-free binding simply slides on the integrated TPX system for easy adjustment.

  • Cascade Tip  :

The new Cascade Tip uses varying shapes of metal and fiberglass laminates at staggered lengths to provide a lighter extremity. The unique layered shapes control tip torsion which smoothes out turn initiation and improves full edge contact. The lighter weight tip improves the swing weight of the ski for quick and adaptable turn initiation.

  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.
