Alpine Ski Rossignol Sky 7 HD W

The women 7-Series designed by Rossignol, is developed for freeriders looking for a powerful powder ski perfectly adapted to their morphology. The Sky 7 HD W replaces the Saffron 7, a girly ski with a 98mm waist, this jewel is endowed with the Carbon Alloy Matrix construction, a revolutionary material mixing carbon fiber and basalt to push the performances of the ski even further.

What can the Rossignol Sky 7 HD W ski do?

Its heart swings between slopes and powder. The 2017 Sky 7 HD W is an incredible versatile ski. The ski is wide enough to lay trenches in powder and enjoy the double rocker effect to do nice and beautiful turn without effort. Its lightened construction, paulownia wood core and honeycomb shape tip, enhance even more the manoeuvrability of the ski. Don’t worry about how deep is the snow, just jump in and smear pow, you will have the feeling of flying on a cloud. Another faculty of the Sky 7 HD W is to ride big lines on the slopes at high speed;  stable and delivering a great edge hold, you can rush down the hill for a max of adrenaline.

Who is the Rossignol Sky 7 HD W ski designed for?

This light and nimble ski has been developed for confirmed skiers looking to play everyday and on every terrains. Really easy to ride, super fun in powder and in soft snow, the Sky 7 HD W will seduce you from the first run.

Structure - Construction

  • Air Tip  : A Patented Technology exclusive to Rossignol! The tip is air filled for maximum lightness and constructed to retain maximum torsional rigidity. The ski's weight is redistributed, freeing the tip and tail of the ski and providing greater ease, security and versatility. The fact that the center of gravity is closer to the center of the ski concentrates strength under the skier's feet. THE ROCKER REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
  • Minicap Sandwich  :

Ultra durable construction built with wood cores, 30 degree sidewalls, fiberglass and high-tech laminates. The Mini Cap ROSSITOP to strengthens the top of the ski and is resistant to chipping for increased durability. The sidewalls of the skis are angled at a 30° incline to improve swing weight, reduce the overall weight of the ski, and enhance edging and durability.

  • Light Wood (Paulownia) Core  :

Experience skis have a Paulownia woodcore. It is 30% lighter which makes the ski effortless to manoeuver.

  • VAS  :

Vibration Absorption System Visco elastomer material integrated into the ski's construction to dampen vibrations, adding greater control, stability, and contact with the snow.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Powder Turn Rocker  :

Rossignol's Powder Turn is engineered with 50% low camber underfoot while the remaining 50% of the tip and tail features high rocker. The camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for groomed snow. The high rocker tip produces more floatation and effortless powder skiing. The high rockered tail is pin shaped to allow skier to have an efficient angle of attack providing easy steering and instant speed control. The 50/50 rocker/camber combination is the most versatile from pow to groomers.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Hollow Linkage Heel  :

The heel was also redesigned from the ground up to guarantee optimal retention for all types of alpine and touring soles. The aluminium hollow axle saves on weight and maximizes the torsional stiffness. This very robust heel construction is best suited for the most strenuous of requirements.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
