Alpine Ski Rossignol Squad 7

Remember the 7 Series? Probably one of the most successful series of all times, the skis were a true revolution in the freeride industry. They were so good that Rossignol continued the series for 2016, allowing skiers to push their limits further.

What can the Rossignol Squad 7 do?

The Squad 7 is the ski you ride when snow has been falling all night and snowcats are covered with it, so is the rest of the mountain. You got it, the Squad 7 is a powder slayer made for surfing the deep with style. Featuring a waist at 120mm and huge tip and tail rockers, the Squad 7 performs on pow like a Lord of the Slopes. It feels intuitive and playful, it floats with a natural ease and links turns with fluidity. The rockers make it pivot easily and allows freestylers to play in the backcountry, land tricks or lay presses as if it was easy. Despite its massive sidecuts, the Squad 7 is remarkably light and aspiring tourers may want to mount skins on it to reach the highest peaks of the resort. On hard snow, the ski get more demanding but it holds its own and best skiers will manage to get down groomers. All it needs is speed, the ski does not work if you don’t ski fast enough.

Who is the Rossignol Squad 7 designed for?

The Squad 7 is a powerful and demanding freerider, best suited for advanced and expert skiers who got strong legs and who look for high performance.

What are the main assets of the Rossignol Squad 7?

Structure - Construction

  • Air Tip  : A Patented Technology exclusive to Rossignol! The tip is air filled for maximum lightness and constructed to retain maximum torsional rigidity. The ski's weight is redistributed, freeing the tip and tail of the ski and providing greater ease, security and versatility. The fact that the center of gravity is closer to the center of the ski concentrates strength under the skier's feet. THE ROCKER REVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
  • Fiberglass / Wood core  :

The fiberglass structure enhances flex and stiffness, increases resistance to torsion, and improves boosts on turn exits.

The wood provides stability and rebound, eliminates vibrations, and has a great durability.

  • VAS  :

Vibration Absorption System Visco elastomer material integrated into the ski's construction to dampen vibrations, adding greater control, stability, and contact with the snow.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Powder Turn Rocker  :

Rossignol's Powder Turn is engineered with 50% low camber underfoot while the remaining 50% of the tip and tail features high rocker. The camber underfoot delivers power, energy, and edge grip for groomed snow. The high rocker tip produces more floatation and effortless powder skiing. The high rockered tail is pin shaped to allow skier to have an efficient angle of attack providing easy steering and instant speed control. The 50/50 rocker/camber combination is the most versatile from pow to groomers.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • OPEN  :

OPEN models can be mounted with telemark or touring bindings.
