Alpine Ski Roxy Shima

We are honored to introduce Roxy skis in our selection. Tailor made for women with ambitions, these all-mountain skis are designed to meet women’ specific shapes and needs. Get ready to see them all around the resort this winter.

What can the Roxy Shima do?

Why would you buy a powder-specific ski AND a piste-specific one and spend a fortune on them when you can have both wrapped in one pair of skis? Sounds too good to be true, we know, and yet, Roxy made it and called it the Shima, one of the most versatile all-mountain skis ever. Featuring a 96mm waist, the ski ranks in the ‘fat’ category and loves it when powder is deep and untouched. Its tip and tail rockers offer tons of manoeuvering on soft snow with intuitive and effortless turns and natural floatation. If you’re not addicted already, you will soon enough discover how it feels to move through the wild mountain, jump that little cornice and run through the trees. There’s no crowd to avoid out there, just a view to enjoy. But powder isn’t always covering the mountain and Roxy knows it, that’s why they designed their freeride ski with a traditional camber. This maximises edge traction on hard snow and makes the ski more responsive as well, allowing for enjoyable runs on groomers while we wait for the next pow to come.

Who is the Roxy Shima designed for?

The Shima is for sporty skiers. Women with an advanced level and solid technical skills should be able to enjoy the beast without wearing themselves out. Intended for skiers who want to be able to ski on and off piste with the same ski.

What are the main assets of the Roxy Shima?

Floatation

Versatility

Structure - Construction

  • Triaxial Fiberglass  :

For optimal grip and more pop.

  • Poplar/Ash Core  :

Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood that creates a light ski core Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Tip/Tail Rocker  :

Rocker makes initiating turns far easier in all conditions from piste to crud to tight trees, it also helps you to float in the powder so you can say goodbye to leg burn.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

Various

  • "5 point" Freeride with Dual-Sidecut  :

Shape 5  points freeride with dual-sidecut for intuitive control and unlimited turn shapes.

  • Sintered IS7200 base  :

A fast and hard base that can take a lot of hits. This one loves a wax every now and then.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel
  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
