Alpine Ski Salomon X Max

This is new at Salomon, the X Max is a ski that combines power and speed for performance-driven skiers.

What can the Salomon X-Max do?

With its smooth rockered tip, oversized Active Contact Sidewalls and a titanal reinforcement, the X Max was made to lay trenches on pistes, whatever the piste looks like. It backs you up with grip and precision no matter how fast you ride.  The ski incorporates many of the latest technologies developped by Salomon and you can feel it. It delivers high performance while keeping you on a comfortable and controllable platform.

Who is the Salomon X-Max designed for?

The X Max is for expert skiers who ride hard and fast and who want a ski that mirrors their riding. The ski carves hard and requires good physical skills to be truly managed.  It’s a real good ski we had tons of fun with. Good skiers will easily fall for it.

What are the main assets of the Salomon X-Max ?

Edge control
Precision
Energy return

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Multi-turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3770 en 170cm

Structure - Construction

  • Active Contact I Sidewalls  :

(Intermediate Sandwich Construction) The edge grip is very progressive in agressive conditions which offers a better control and power gauging.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Carve Rocker  :

Thanks to the rocker, there's a full running length of the edge, which allows easy and precise turns. Very playful.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Interface

  • X-Track plate  :

    Optimal power transmission

Various

  • Powerline Titanium  :

Active Dampening System made of Titanium brings together performance and control, comfort and confidence on on-piste high performance skis. A titanium bar running the length of the ski, embedded in a sheath of rubber, substantially diminishes vibrations improves ski to snow contact acceleration.

  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.

"I was lockig for a god piste ski. I found it in the X-max for a barging from GlisshopThe ski i really nice, from tight SL turns to GS. Has a very god edgehold. A really nice ski for harpacked slopes to supply my lineup. Stiff, liveley and fun to ski, it initiates turns vhitout any effort. You put the ski up on the edges and it turns i nice carwingturns. You can drive the frontends to fighten the turns as well as ski the tails in quickturns. The 175 cm suites me perfect as a prefered piste ski. Me 193 cm 95 kg 54 years, skiing all condition on piste and offpist."
