Alpine Ski Salomon X Max X8

The Salomon X-Max X8 is all about performance and accuracy on slopes. Unlike the more powerful skis of the range with titanium and carbon reinforcing, the X-Max X8 has a basalt structure for an easier and more comfortable glide. The basalt is a formidable material to absorb vibrations and swallow the terrain asperities. Like all the X-max skis, it has a slight tip rocker giving it really intuitive turn initiations.

What can the Salomon X-Max X8 ski do?

Built for performances on slopes, the X-Max X8 offers great sensations for a  fluid and pleasant glide. Really playful at mid speed, it is not demanding, you can carve lines one after another effortlessly. You just have to push a bit on it to take speed, then you will discover a powerful ski with a perfect hedge hold and a great stability. It offers a really interesting rebound and energetic out of turns. The main assets of this ski would be its accessibility and its forgiveness. It is easy to handle and after few turns you just want to push harder out of turns and take some speed. Perfect choice if you want to improve your technique with a dynamic slope ski.

Who is the Salomon X-Max X ski designed for?

Salomon designed this model to satisfy most of the skiers who want to have fun on slopes while improving their technique and crank up the speed some time. With the X-Max X8, the intermediate skiers will find the comfort and forgiveness to ride for hours and go up to the next level. For the confirmed skiers they will love its handiness, edge hold and rebound.

Structure - Construction

  • Oversized Active Contact sidewalls  :

Sandwich ABS construction for optimal energy distribution and grip.

  • Basalt layer  :

Used in building highways throughout the world, a Basalt layer in the ski provides outstanding dampening and vibration resistance.

  •  :

The Salomon models with Koroyd extremities make a great performance ski for the intermediate and a great value ski for the expert. Koroyd’s Honeycomb Tip removes heavier material away from the tips of the skis to lower the swingweight, to make it easier to maneuver, and less fatiguing.

  • Woodcore  :

Wood is added into the core to improve on-snow stability and return. It also makes the contact ski/snow smoother and eliminates chatter.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Carve Rocker  :

Thanks to the rocker, there's a full running length of the edge, which allows easy and precise turns. Very playful.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Interface

  • X-Track plate  :

    Optimal power transmission

Various

  • Heel protection
  • Pulse PAD  :

A layer of rubber along the edges and in certain zones of the ski for smoother ride and improved ski-snow contact.

  • Tip protector  :

Carbon reinforcement increasing the reactivity and the stiffness in torsion without compromising the weight of the ski.

  • Gentle Rise Tail  :

Gentle rise of the tail for more forgiveness and more control in all conditions

Ski Binding Salomon M XT 10 C90 White Green

The binding is lower which provides a more precise feel and an improved contact with the terrain. It is also wider with better lateral transmission.

The Progressive Transfer pads reduce vibrations and deliver a better ski/snow contact feel.

Compared to the previous version (Smartrack), the binding is 15% lighter in its Ti version and 5% lighter in its X-track STD version.

It's easy to mount and doesn't require any tools for adjusting different boot sizes.

The binding meets skiers' needs.
