Alpine Ski Scott Crusade

If Scott had decided of not making the Crusade again, that would probably have caused a national strike. This ski is such a great product it's hard to describe it objectively. At the top of the all-mountain range, it features a wide shape with deep sidecuts for an optimum piste performance. Manoeuvrable and playful, the ski allows short turns and delivers an incredible feel while carving. Souped up for piste, the Crusade has everything you need to go freeriding too. The rocker and the 90mm waist provide floatation on pow. It also comes with a Venturi tip designed to erase impacts and vibrations caused by bumps, and increase the smoothness of your lines.

What our testers say : One of the most versatile ski ever. It can lay deep trenches on groomers providing solid underfoot support, and if you push just a little on the tip you'll reduce the radius of your turns easily. Off-piste-wise, the ski floats effortlessly and feels very smooth even on bumps. This is simply an excellent ski, and this anywhere you take it. Super stable, no chatter, for advanced to expert skiers.

Note: the sale of this item implies a personalisation of the product (drilling the skis). The right of cancellation cannot be exercised on these products, according to the Article L121-20-2 of the French Consumer Code. No refund or exchange will be accepted.

Structure - Construction

  • SSC LT - Sandwich Sidewall Construction Laminate Triaxial  :

    Stability & precision.

This construction achieves torsional rigidity on wider skis. This technology delivers exceptionally strong and stable skis.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Venturi-Tip Rocker M  :

Venturi-Tip Rocker combines a hollowed tip with a rocker shape. The resulting Venturi-Tip Rocker design allows for great float and better tracking, yielding a highly versatile performer in variable conditions.

    +Excellent float and turn initiation

+Offers stability at high speeds in all conditions

+Reduces surface pressure resulting in improved ski handling

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

  • Dual Radius  :

Traditional skis have a fixed radius that determines the length of every turn. SCOTT skis combine two radii (dual radius) to create the sidecut or “shape” of the ski. By incorporating the Dual Radius concept, the ski can turn when you want it to turn, resulting in a more versatile ski which is not confined to one type of skiing or terrain.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

  • Pre Track  :

When developing Pre-Track, SCOTT designed skis with wide tips and/or slightly turned up tails. With Pre-Track, SCOTT skis employ a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. The result is a more precise, stable, reliable and versatile ski.

I was looking for some cheap skis that needed to serve me for a long time, I came across the website and was very interested in the up to 60% August sale, with the additional 20% checkout reduction, became hard to resist. Pros Like the look of them, nice finish, clean. Doing my research, I learned that newly released for 2013, the skis where upward towards £600, I with bindings got them for around £180. So a massive bargain. Cons Yet to try them, being purchased during August. So as performance goes, I no experience, however multiple online reviews recommend these skis displays only reviews from customers who ordered the product on its website. This is to improve the relevance of the comments.
