Alpine Ski Scott The Ski

When Scott engineers decide to do a true allround ski ultra versatile they don’t go half way and deliver the incredible 2017 The Ski. If the brand didn’t do any major changes to this iconic model means that it doesn’t need it. Choose according to the length you need and you will have a waist between 91 and 93mm perfectly adapted to all the terrains you can encounter on the mountain.

What can the Scott The Ski ski do?

Initially developed as an all-mountain ski 50/50 slope/powder, The Ski holds all its promises and is surprisingly accessible. Easy to handle, you can attack on any runs with confidence it will deliver a fluid and pleasant glide. Quite predictable, you can adapt the pace as you wish. On the slopes it grips to the perfection and you can do turns one after another with great ease. As soon as you get off the slopes you will have fun with this playful all-mountain ski and enjoy its quite generous sidecut. It doesn’t matter if you encounter a patch of ice, crusty or crud snow The Ski is an astounding allround ski that will keep you on tracks no matter what.

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Multi-turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3900 en 180 cm

Structure - Construction

  • Tip to tail woodcore  :

The long woodcore gives the ski a more consistent flex and more fluidity through transitions.

  • SSCL E  : VERSATILITY & PERFORMANCE - SCOTT’s Elliptical Sandwich construction offers exceptional torsional stiffness while providing a consistent and confident flex, delivering precise edge control.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Technology

  • Pro-Tip 320 mm  :

By incorporating a progressive tip height radius, SCOTT skis simply track better than the competition. SCOTT's Pro-Tip produces a more consistent ski flex and predictable turns. Pro-Tip is available in three heights 300mm (Precision On-Piste), 350mm (All-Mountain) and 375mm (Full Freeride). Tip Rocker 320 mm.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Various

  • 3D Sidecut  :

Revolutionary technology combining 2 radius with a central straight sidecut, allowing twin rocker skis to be brilliant on off pist with an excellent edge grip on pistes.

  • Factory Finish  :

SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance. The base is finished with a micro structured CNC stone grind so you can mount your skis and hit the hill, no tuning required.

  • Pre Track  :

When developing Pre-Track, SCOTT designed skis with wide tips and/or slightly turned up tails. With Pre-Track, SCOTT skis employ a smaller effective edge for short radius turns on groomed slopes and a longer effective edge when making bigger turns or skiing off-piste. The result is a more precise, stable, reliable and versatile ski.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel  :

A statement of efficiency - with the usual perfect MARKER release properties and the perfect mix of great design, lightness and excellent functionality. This heel technology is perfect for beginners and occasional skiers due to the release properties and is an excellent value.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
