Alpine Ski Stockli Stormrider 88

The new freeride ski serie made in Stockli sets the tone right off the bat: a light construction boosted with a double layer of stiff titanium. Among this snappy and lively serie is the Stormrider 88, an everyday ski endowed with the latest technologies of the swiss brand like a tip rocker and a hyper strong Sandwich Sidewall construction.

What can the Stockli Stormrider 88 ski do?

You better hang on to those blades, with those supercharged freeride skis you will smash everything on your path. On groomed runs or in a powder field you can drop in at max speed nothing will stop you. The stiffness of the Stormrider 88 makes it a great carving ski, the flat tail delivers a stunning acceleration coming out of turns. It is the perfect definition of a snappy ski. The tip rocker is really efficient in fresh powder and brings it back to the surface. In the crud snow, deep powder, melted snow, with a minimum speed the Stormrider 88 goes everywhere and through any snow conditions. It is light enough to be mounted with free touring bindings to go and hunt virgins faces.

Who is the Stockli Stormrider 88 ski designed for?

With its strong titanium reinforcement, the Stormrider 88 is designed for athletic intermediate and confirmed skiers seeking a versatile ski to get the most out of the winter season.

Structure - Construction

  • Construction TiTec  :

This not only looks like metal - it is metal! The titanal material is cross-ground and the design is then sublimated. Next to saving weight the surface is given a unique touch!

  •  :

The Thin Glass Laminate is about 25% lighter than traditional laminates which helps saving weight without compromising rigidity.

  • Super Light Core  :

Light and stable - the new wood combination of Sabei (Fuma) and ash that make up the lightweight core fulfill just these criteria. Even lighter is balsa wood - one of the lightest woods available and yet best suited for ski construction.

The Super Light Core is made of linen-reinforced balsa wood combined with the other two woods. Together with the TiTec surface the result is a perfect lightweight and yet stable freeride ski.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.

Ski Binding Marker Griffon 13 ID 90mm Black

The Griffon features the same specs as the Jester, but it's more suitable for young and light skiers. The Griffon binding features strong screws and a centered balance. The tranversal spring in the toe piece and the compact construction allow the binding to be particularly short, ideal for spins.

The binding isn't compatible with Head boots Cube3 and I-Type.

Binding technologies

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe  :

The toe construction with DIN/ISO up to Z 18 allows for impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Inter-Pivot Heel  :

The stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for free riding, featuring DIN/ISO 6-16. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.
