Alpine Ski Volkl Alley

Park rats are going to be happy to see that Völkl continue their Park & Pipe lineup for 2016. Their freestyle skis are truly iconic, tested and proven to be some of the best performers in the industry. Get ready for a blast.

What can the Völkl Alley do?

The Alley is the entry-level ski of Volkl’s freestyle family. It is a partner of choice if your goal for the season is to learn how to ride in park, land your first tricks, grind your first rails and progress your style. The ski features a traditional underfoot camber offering tons of grip on hard snow and added stability. The Alley has a soft flex pattern which makes it super easy to bend or press and it allows painless and effortless progression. It is not a hard charging ski, don’t expect landing from black kickers, but it’s an excellent teacher that will help tune your technique and make it fun. On top of it, the Alley is pretty versatile and handles most terrains with ease, which is nice when you’ve done enough park laps for the day and want to spend the rest of it carving on groomers.

Who is the Völkl Alley designed for?

The Alley is a good pick for any skier who wants to discover the joys of freestyling. It is smooth, forgiving and playful and makes a great match for beginner and intermediate levels.

What are the main assets of the Völkl Alley?

Playfulness
Forgiveness
Versatility

Structure - Construction

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

  • Tough Box Construction  :

Tough Box construction features a Multi-Layer wood core wrapped with a composite/fiberglass sheath to create the ultimate resilience and snap for our freeskiing models.Surrounding the core in the mid-body of the ski, it adds snap, strength and binding screw retention.

Technology

  • Full Camber  :

The running length of the edge allows stability and precision, even on straight lines or light turns.

  • No rocker

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel
  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The newly designed, compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole plates ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other Marker bindings. Why should tourers and freestylers make any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
