Alpine Ski Volkl Code S Speedwall

The Code Speedwall in its S version. The S stands for Short turns. Its waist is slightly narrower and its turning radius a lot shorter making the Code Speedwall an excellent ski for skiers who like speed and slalom-like turns.

What can the Volkl Code Speedwall S do?

These sticks are made for skiing fast and Volkl built it accordingly. Featuring a Speedwall woodcore reinforced with titanal, the Code Speedwall is a pretty impressive ski cause it feels really powerful and yet incredibly agile thanks to its tip and tail rocker maximising manoeuverability. You'll jump from a turn to another and take your skills to the next level with this ski. Stable, nimble, the rockers do a great job throughout the turns and make them intuitive and predictable. The ski glides with an effortless ease and keeps your speed at its max. If you were looking for a slalom ski that could ride hard and fast and not feel too hard to manage, this one is a safe bet.

Who is the Volkl Code Speedwall S designed for?

It is a great toy for skiers looking for a ski that's extremely agile and fast. It does require skills to be managed, advanced level minimum. The ski works well in all conditions as long as you stay on piste. Great everyday ski.

Type of turns

  • Multi-turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • Noyau Full Sensor Wood Core  :

In the Full Sensor Wood Core construction a compact wooden core is integrated from the ski tip to the ski tail providing power and energy along the entire ski's length. The result is optimum support and responsiveness for skiers with a good feeling for the snow and slopes and seek intuitive feedback from their skis. This wood core is used in the UNLIMITED and TIGER ski ranges and in some of the Freeski models.

  • Power Construction  :

Völkl’s longest-running construction, Power Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls and a torsion box internal layup. Used in racing skis as well as all the freeskiing models, this versatile, proven construction provides tremendous grip and stability when combined with the Sensorwood core.

  • Powered by Titanium  :

The top-of-the-line models in the VÖLKL Alpine ski range boast a special wood core tuning system - all powered by titanium. Above and below the XTD Sensor Wood Core or XTD Wood Core, there is a layer of titanium reinforcing the ski and adding power and stability. The thin yet extremely strong aluminium alloy extends its unparalleled dampening properties particularly at high speeds.

  • Speed Wall  :

Völkl reinvents a historic construction and takes it to the next level with the new Speedwall technology. Modern ski designs and today's race courses involve spending more time on the sidewalls and edges. Völkl engineers siezed an opportunity to make faster skis we view the sidewalls not just as lateral boundaries, but a continuation of the surface in contact with the snow. We make Speedwall sidewall material out of a proprietary composite sintered base material Speedwall sidewalls can be waxed, just like the bases. In racing, that means less friction and more speed!

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Tip & Tail Rocker  :

The ski has a variable edge length in the shovel and tail areas. The rocker height is minimal. The variable edge set between the shovel and tail makes the ski turn-happy. That in turn allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • R Motion  :

Developed jointly by Marker and Völkl specifically to fit the new Racetiger models. Not surprisingly, it draws most of its features from World Cup components. rMotion ensures the maximum contact width via a new race plate that is a hybrid between the Marker World Cup plate and a Motion system. The plate functions just like a race plate, giving the skier additional leverage, plus acceleration at the end of the turn.
