Alpine Ski Volkl Pyra

What a women freestyle ski! The flashy topsheet and the trendy base make it definitely girly and trendy. With the Pyra made in Volkl you won’t go unnoticed on the ground and in the air. Volkl designed this ski to be light and resistant to allow freestylers to send massive tricks even if they don't have an insane physical condition.

What can the Volkl Pyra ski do?

Here is a fun twin tip ski with a symmetrical shape ready to attack any park feature even in switch.. Its integral vertical sidewall provide the needed accuracy to work on your trajectories. Volkl endowed it with an explosive pop, good news for your ladies, to go higher than ever and discover the zero gravity sensation. You can send any spins and tricks in the park, its soft flex will ease the landing and you can do press and butters on flat.

Who is the Volkl Pyra ski designed for?

This model has been developed for intermediate to confirmed freestylers looking for a light and poppy ski to improve in freestyle and on all terrains. The Pyra is a really good everyday ski as powerful as fun.

What are the main assets of the Volkl Pyra ski?

Type of turns

  • Long turns

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3000gr en 155cm

Structure - Construction

  • Full Sidewall  :

Strength and efficiency. A simple process you can always count on.

  • Multi Layer Woodcore  :

Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core with two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates secure screw retention and stability, while the softer poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern can be tailored to each ski model to match the desired performance characteristics.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • Symmetrical Sidecut  :

The symmetrical sidecut allows the park and pipe rider the best possible performance by allowing a center-mounted ski to perform the same while riding switch or forward. It also allows completely even balance for rail slides

  • Tip & Tail Rocker  :

The ski has a variable edge length in the shovel and tail areas. The rocker height is minimal. The variable edge set between the shovel and tail makes the ski turn-happy. That in turn allows for a stiffer flex setup. A longer ski can be selected.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • P-Tex 1100 base
  • Twin-Tip  :

A symmetrical shape for a 100% freestyle ride, as efficient in switch as in regular stance.

Binding technologies

  • Anti Friction Device AFD  :

All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device) and therefore guarantee a highly precise release almost entirely unhindered by dirt, snow and ice! Individual adjustment of the AFD to the area of application ensures perfect functionality - from racing, for children’s bindings or on ski tours.

  • Compact Heel  :

A statement of efficiency - with the usual perfect MARKER release properties and the perfect mix of great design, lightness and excellent functionality. This heel technology is perfect for beginners and occasional skiers due to the release properties and is an excellent value.

  • Triple Pivot Light  :

The compact toe features a horizontally inserted spring. Together with the gliding plate the gliding elements integrated into the sole holders ensure a very precise release behaviour which is comparable to all other MARKER bindings. Why should touring skiers and freestylers accept any compromises? An aluminium bridge on the top provides additional support without adding any extra weight.
