Snowboard Burton Gate Keeper

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

The Gate Keeper is the big mountain rocket made by Burton. The board dominates all conditions and all terrains the mountain has to offer. It’s good on powder and it excels on deep powder. That should give you the first clue of what the Gate Keeper can do.

What can the Burton Gate Keeper snowboard do?

The Gate Keeper by Burton is a directional board with a setback camber and a huge rocker running through the nose. This very specific profile gives the board tons of float on the deep with added manoeuverability and more edge control on the hardpack as well. The stiff and powerful construction keeps the board stable at high speed and avoids chatter and vibrations. The board plows through the crud without minding. The Gate Keeper is definitely oriented towards freeride and you feel it straight away. It’s a big mountain charger suited for riding hard and fast on deep powder or for carving neat trenches on groomers if conditions do not allow off piste riding.

Who is the Burton Gate Keeper snowboard designed for?

It is a stiff and powerful board, lively and compact under the feet, best suited for advanced or expert riders or freeriders who know how to deal with power. The board is highly versatile and shall satisfy anybody who likes speed.

Structure - Construction

  • Dualzone™ EGD™  :

The wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength.

  • 45° Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage Fiberglass  :

Carbon Highlights optimize each layer of the fiberglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve different ride characteristics. 45° fiber angle provides a more aggressive ride.

  • FSC™ Certified Super Fly II™ 700G Core  :

Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight.

  • Squeezebox  :

Squeezebox is a patent-pending technology that transfers energy outward from under your feet, energizing the tip and tail for added snap when exiting a turn and ollieing. Thinner core sections underfoot transition to thicker, more powerful areas between and outside your feet for a more stable board that can be powered up and manipulated with less effort.

Shape - Sidecuts

  • Directional shape  :

Classic shape for a versatile use. The nose is slightly longer than the tail.

Rocker - Camber

  • Directionnal Camber  :

Directional camber and with rocker at the nose allows for a much shorter and more maneuverable board

  • Balanced Freeride Geometry  :

Twin or directional is the age-old question for creative rippers like Terje. Balanced Freeride Geometry end the debate with setback camber and a sidecut that is centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess expected from a directional deck.

  • Directional flex  :

This versatile flex enhances tail's pop and stiffens the nose for a better control on all terrains.

  • Infinite Ride™  :

This Burton-exclusive technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.

  • Sintered WFO Base  :

Infusing a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material results in an ultra-durable base that stays Wide F!#@ing Open all season in any condition.

  • The Channel  :

Now on more boards and evolved for greater performance, The ChannelM6 has staked its claim as snowboarding’s most direct connection. Focusing power through a central connection that acts as a backbone for the board’s internal tech, it also lets you easily micro-adjust your stance width and angles with all binding formats including EST™, Re:Flex™, and Disc. The upgrade to M6 means Burton is now using a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use, and allows for compatibility with select competitor bindings, making it a choice for any rider.

Snow Binding Burton Genesis EST Black

Knowing the Genesis in its standard version is a blast, just try to imagine what the EST version feels like. The binding is a mountain killer. Everything on it was designed to enhance and improve performance and/or comfort. The highback was designed in 2 parts and works like a spring to deliver even more fluidity on rough terrains. The Genesis EST is a high performance multitasker suited for riders with ambitions.

What can the Burton Genesis EST Black snowboard binding do?

Okay we hear you, the Genesis EST is a little pricy but this is for a reason. It features so many techs and delivers so much performance that Burton couldn’t do anything else. The Genesis EST can hardly be compared to any other bindings in terms of feel and comfort provided. Every move you make is transfered to the board and allows high precision carving. You can ride as fast as you can and rely on the binding’s stability and dampening to eliminate chatter and vibrations. The highback provides support for slashing powder and delivers great lateral mobility to let freestylers express themselves. We found a new definition to the word awesome!

Who is the Burton Genesis EST Black snowboard binding designed for?

We can only recommend this binding to advanced and experienced riders. The Genesis EST is a very complete binding offering tons of comfort, reactivity and all terrain performance.
