Snowboard Burton Modified Fish

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

If you love deep fresh snow and if, to you, a good day is a powder day, spent leaving tracks in the backcountry, then the Modified Fish is a safe pick. Inspired from the Fish board and featuring more versatile sidecuts, the Modified Fish by Burton is a freeride bomb.

What can the Burton Modified Fish snowboard do?

The Modified Fish is the right board for those who find the Burton Fish a little too exclusive but who still want a powder board. Designed for being ridden a little shorter than a regular board, the Modified Fish features a flat camber on the rear part and a huge rockered nose. This winning combination delivers a fantastic floatability and an exceptional agility through the deep which is perfect for laying big lines in the backcountry and surfing through rocks and trees. You may want to blame the board for lacking of stability and grip on hard snow if you ride too fast, but it’s a pow board and yet, it holds its own on groomers.

Who is the Burton Modified Fish snowboard designed for?

Excellent board for those who love powder and who want a board they can take out when conditions are ideal. Effortless to manage due to its short length, you do need a good technique for keeping under control.

Structure - Construction

  • Dualzone™ EGD™  :

The wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength.

  • Triax fiberglass  :

Versatile flex and response for everything from mini to mega shred.

  • FSC™ Certified Super Fly II™ 700G Core  :

Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight.

  • Squeezebox  :

Squeezebox is a patent-pending technology that transfers energy outward from under your feet, energizing the tip and tail for added snap when exiting a turn and ollieing. Thinner core sections underfoot transition to thicker, more powerful areas between and outside your feet for a more stable board that can be powered up and manipulated with less effort.

Shape - Sidecuts

  • Directional shape  :

Classic shape for a versatile use. The nose is slightly longer than the tail.

Rocker - Camber

  • Directional Flat Top  :

A flat profile overall with a rocker nose for the steady stability and effortless float demanded by deep days and surfy terrain.

Other

  • Directional flex  :

This versatile flex enhances tail's pop and stiffens the nose for a better control on all terrains.

  • Infinite Ride™  :

This Burton-exclusive technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks in the board for you. Whether you choose to ride Springloaded, Rocker, or Camber, rest assured that with Infinite Ride™ your board will maintain its flex, pop, and feel from the first day forward, season after season.

  • Pro-Tip™  :

A tapered Tip and Tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility.

  • Sintered WFO Base  :

Infusing a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material results in an ultra-durable base that stays Wide F!#@ing Open all season in any condition.

  • The Channel  :

Now on more boards and evolved for greater performance, The ChannelM6 has staked its claim as snowboarding’s most direct connection. Focusing power through a central connection that acts as a backbone for the board’s internal tech, it also lets you easily micro-adjust your stance width and angles with all binding formats including EST™, Re:Flex™, and Disc. The upgrade to M6 means Burton is now using a standardized hardware size that improves upon performance and ease-of-use, and allows for compatibility with select competitor bindings, making it a choice for any rider.

Baseplate - Chassis

  • 2,5° BankBeds  :

    Improves comfort and energy transfer

  • Baseplate Glass-Filled Nylon Rockered  :

Engineered to transmit energy directly to the board without loss of efficiency. The minimized contact area with the board channels your power where it needs to go while the rocker corners of the baseplate allow any type of board to maintain optimal flex. Featured on all Flow bindings

Highback

  • ATM.7
  • Glass-Filled Nylon ModBack  :

The modular hibacks separate the lower and the upper zones for targeted strength, support, and flex where you need it. The Alu ModBacks offer more stiffness and response, while the GF-Nylon ModBacks offer a lively and fun feel. On the NX2, Fuse, and ISIS series, the lower zone also automatically triggers N.A.S.T.Y.

Straps - Buckles

  • A-Fusion Powerstrap  :

Giving you more feel and optimal performance, the unique Flow PowerStraps cover a larger area of the foot especially your critical mid-foot zone. PowerStraps don’t need to be cranked down which avoids cramping, fatigue and cold toes while transferring more power directly to your board edges. They also keep a stable position for true SpeedEntry convenience.

The FUSION PowerStrap is 3D-shaped, fuses the ankle & toe zones over the midfoot, and is padded for a super comfortable form-fit to your boot.

Featuring our new LSR-buckles, FUSION PowerStraps fuse the worlds of SpeedEntry and SideEntry so you can opt for either based on individual preference or the situation you are in.

Choose between either the Symmetrical I-FUSION for great all around support and freestyle feel or the Asymmetrical

A-FUSION for extra lateral support and responsiveness, the FUSION PowerStraps deliver the very best in comfort

    and performance.

  • LSR - Locking Strap Ratchets  :

These innovative Locking Slap Ratchet (LSR) buckles give you the option to easily get in and out bindings any which way you like. Whether SpeedEntry or DualEntry, they lock down to secure your preferred footstrap tightness.

  • N.A.S.T.Y  :

    New Active Strap Technology

SpeedEntry has never been more convenient without sacrificing the superior performance, comfort and power transmission that Flow bindings are famous for. With the revolutionary New Active Strap Technology, the strap automatically lifts up when you open the reclining hiback and actively tightens again when you close the hiback. N.A.S.T.Y. reduces friction and creates more room so that getting in and out of your bindings is faster and easier than ever.
