Snowboard Drake Misty

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

Ladies, this is Mercedes Nicoll’s board of choice, she’s been riding for Drake and competed at Sochi Olympics in Half Pipe womens. That’s a nice introduction for a board isn’t it? No need to beat around the bush, the Misty is a powerful freestyle gun and an iconic board in the women’s snowboard industry.

What can the Drake Misty snowboard do?

Twin-tipped with a micro camber, the board delivers a solid edge grip and strong support for handling the icy walls of the pipe. Loaded with enough pop to send huge 540s over the coping, the Misty features a lively construction enhancing rebound and energy transfers. If the board is mainly used in superpipes by Mercedes, it has no problem with riding out of it and shredding parks and groomers. Kickers, rails, walls and boxes are no strangers to the board and you’ll have fun destroying them one after the other. The solid edge hold coupled with the responsive structure are very welcome when you feel like laying long arcs on groomers and get the speed cranked up. Note that the edges are detuned by the tips to offer a more forgiving feel through sketchy landings and a more playful feel on presses. It also makes the board less catchy on rails.

Who is the Drake Misty snowboard designed for?

The Misty is a freestyle-specific board for advanced or expert women riders who look at the biggest park features with a grin on their face. It’s also an excellent board for piste riders who want a solid feel under the boots for carving at high speed and keep stability at its best.

Structure - Construction

  • Biax fiberglass  :

Glass fibers are positioned at 90° off-axis to transmit soft torsion stiffness for an easy carving-ride.

  • PREMIUM POP CORE  :

Core made from the finest quality poplar wood. Its most important feature is its low density homogeneous throughout the entire board. This is created by narrow veining that gives the board a unique feel. The core transmits energy throughout tip and tail, and gives the rider a feeling of being fused to the board. Designed for all-terrain boards with freestyle aspects.

Shape - Sidecuts

  • Blunt  :

This particular shape makes the board more controllable by reducing the running length of the edge while maintaining the contact with the snow. The tips are cut straight which makes the board shorter, lighter, more manoeuverable and easier to spin. This ends up into a light and playful board, great for freestyling and fantastic for everything else.

  • Shape Twin Tip  :

Length and width of the nose and tail are the same. Inserts are centered.

Rocker - Camber

  • Micro Camber

Other

  • Detuned Edges  :

All of Drakes freestyle-jibbing boards come out the factory with detuned edges on the tip and tail. That avoids edge catch on turns and spins, and delivers a mellow ride. Ideal for riding boxes, rails or trees !

  • Ext Base 4000  :

Made of high quality P-Tex. This high-density base is fast and strong.
