Snowboard Nidecker Megalight

Note: The colour of the bases may be different from the picture displayed on the website, manufacturers combine colours randomly.

Behind its look combining aggressivity and elegance, the Megalight hides a racing beast, a mountain slayer, a crud-buster or any synonym of a dangerous item. Indeed, the Megalight is not a toy and those who have tried it know what we mean. So please make room for it because it’s not going to stop or even slow down for your pretty face.

What can the Nidecker Megalight snowboard do?

This is the high-end, even the very high-end at Nidecker. Freeride-oriented, the board is so versatile that we could easily put it in the all-mountain, freeride and freecarve category. The Megalight is a performance-driven blade with an unbeatable weight/power ratio. Its super stiff construction, reinforced with materials known for their great durability (basalt, carbon, kevlar) makes the Megalight faster and stronger than a rocket. From ice blocks to crud, the board destroys it all without shaking. You won’t even feel it. This is the aggressive character of the board. If you look on the elegant side, you should go on a wide and untouched powder slope and try to surf it. The board will give you a blast. If feels so light and floaty, so nimble and yet so powerful that it’s the ideal partner for it. It’s also a champion carver. The stiff construction and specific profile make the board grippy and super lively with tons of rebound out of turns. It’s a board for riders who charge hard and fast and who want to win every race they start.

Who is the Nidecker Megalight snowboard designed for?

It is a great choice for advanced or expert riders looking for the best of freeride. It superior construction, innovative materials and futuristic technologies make the Megalight ultra versatile, ultra light and not as difficult to manage as it should be.

Structure - Construction

  • 3D N Concept  :

The carbon kevlar integrated to the structure delivers a stiffer torsional flex and more response.

  • BCK  :

The ultimate combination of fibers will fit all your needs. Basalt, Carbon and Kevlar (BCK) placed from the tail to the rear inserts and from the nose to the front inserts provides a lighter board and all the advantages of the BCK fibers : increased pop, increased torsional stiffness and reactivity

  • Freeflex 2.0  :

In this patented technology, the nose and tail of the board are specially molded in a very thin composite material that is layered with a proprietary elastomeric covering. This cancels out vibrations and helps provide a unique light feel in transitions, due to its reduced thickness. Free Flex 2.0 has one of the lowest swing weights in the industry, meaning less chatter for you.

  • Light Core  :

NDK's lightest core featuring 3 different wood cores. The Light Core is a perfect combination of Paulownia for the lighteness, Poplar for the pop and response and a hardwood beech along the edges to increase core durability, pop and protection from edge impacts.

  • Swiss Core  :

One of the biggest evolution since the Camrock. The core fibers are woven following a specific pattern so the board reacts differently on the snow depending on the kind of ride you're having. If you're freestyling, the flex is oriented towards the ground letting the edges raise above the snow avoiding you to hook on a rail or a box. If you're freeriding, the flex gets oriented towards the top and the edges make contact with the snow, allowing a better edge grip on turns.

  • Shock Absorber

Rocker - Camber

  • CamRock Freeride  :

The CamRock Freeride will give you everything you need for your backcountry line. There is more rocker in the nose to add float and improved maneuverability, matched with a smaller amount of camber under foot to keep your snowboard responsive. A small amount of rocker in the tail will give you stability and maneuverability.

Other

  • Diamond Stone Finish  :

    Diamond Stone Finish

  • Die Cut
  • Edge  :

Nidecker's edges have 35% more steel than typical edges, which means that they have two and a half times the impact resistance of other edges offered on the market today

  • Base 9000  :

100% eco-friendly, and it's the fastest base of the range. Made of carbon, it has a strong molecular structure that makes it very strong.

Snow Binding Union Force Black

It's been 10 years since the Force was first released, 10 years since Union found the ultimate formula to make the ultimate binding. The Force gets slightly upgraded for 2016 and comes with a new toe strap. The binding is made of a solid and light construction featuring high-end materials like aluminium in the heelcup, nylon Duraflex ST in the chassis or magnesium in the buckles.
