Description

For the second year, the series of versatile skis Slight is back in force with a new waist width on the Scott Slight 83! Featuring the same ultra-light and performing construction of the range, the Slight 83 offers the narrowest waist width of the series, varying from 80 to 84 mm depending on the size of your ski. It will hence be lighter uphill and more agile on piste.

What can the Scott Slight 83 ski do?
The Slight range has an high-end construction made of a paulownia core that is both stable and light. This core is laminated with carbon and aramid reinforced fibreglass, for more torsional stiffness and a better grip on hard snow. The Slight 83 is lively, precise and stable at high-speeds, allowing to vary turn shapes with ease thanks to a multi turning radius and the progressive rise of the Pro-tip Rocker. This is a great ski to go carving on reds, that also enables to enjoy some touring away from the groomers. In addition, its rocker helps to ride through soft snow and offers good flotation when skiing on backcountry fine powder. As you can see, the Slight 83 offers a degree of skiability worthy of a classic All Mountain, while featuring with a lightened construction which offers a beautiful touring performance.

Who is the Scott Slight 83 ski designed for?
The Slight 83 will be perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers who want to be able to enjoy the whole resort, while having the opportunity to switch to touring mode to get some peace away from the slopes. This ski will be accessible enough for intermediate skiers while offering great performance to more experienced skiers.

What are the main assets of the Scott Slight 83 ski?

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
