Alpine Ski Black Crows Navis Freebird

Another season begins for the Navis Freebird. The ski returns with an upgraded construction offering more lightweight than the previous one.

What can the Black Crows Navis Freebird do?

As if the Navis Freebird wasn’t good enough, engineers at Black Crows made it even better which is almost too good to be true. Say hello to the 2016 version weighing 400g less per pair. Stunning! Anyone looking for a light pair of sticks will have a feel for it. The turning radius was also shortened and the flex was softened which in the end results in a more playful and nimble ski, easier to move around. This mid fat gem delivers ultimate touring performance and allows long tours without creating much fatigue. The Navis doesn’t care about snow conditions or steepness, it rides everywhere and feels as good as can be!

Who is the Black Crows Navis Freebird designed for?

The Navis Freebird is the second widest ski after the Corvus. It is best suited for advanced or expert skiers looking for a light ski that performs up and downhill equally well. With a good edge grip on hard snow, which you often find when skinning up, the Navis Freebird stands like an excellent freetouring ski on the market.

What are the main assets of the Black Crows Navis Freebird?

I was after a pair of touring skis that would be ok for the up and great fun on the way down. They're fantastic! Really like them. Very lively and responsive, very easy to pivot and throw around, and hold an edge really well. Highly recommended

This was a present for my girlfriend and she was looking for a lightweight free-ride ski that she could tour on easily but that she would also be happy skiing inbounds with. Pros: Lightweight, good in powder, blasts crud and chop and seems to be fairly robust Cons: Small amount of chatter at high speed but less than expected
