Alpine Ski Black Crows Orb

Staying on top of innovation is a perpetual challenge for ski manufacturers, yet it is also important to keep the good stuff when it doesn't need to be changed. That's why Black Crows brings back the Orb for 2018. The ski carries the same powerful construction incorporating titanal with dual reinforcements from tip to tail giving it power and aggressivity.

What can the Black Crows Orb ski do?

The Orb is the go-to option for the reckless all-rounders. The ski grips on hard snow as much as it floats on pow. Its powerful tip busts through the crud with a ridiculous ease and delivers a satisfying breaking power. Its 91mm waist offers support and float on soft snow and keeps the ski planing with the tips rising above surface. The titanal reinforcements ensure added stability and grip when the speed gets cranked up making the ski a fantastic performer for both frontside and backside of the mountain.

Who is the Black Crows Orb designed for?

An impressive ski that can deal with anything the mountain throws at it. The only thing you need is skills and control. The ski is demanding and aggressive, only advanced riders can tame it and have it unveil its true potential.

What are the main assets of the Black Crows Orb ski?

Versatility

Edge grip on hard snow

Type of turns

  • Long turns

Shape

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Weight of the pair in grams

  • 3750 (178 cm)

Structure - Construction

  • Double Titanal reinforcement  :

Double titanal reinforcement above and under the wooden core in order to give more rebound and reactivity to the ski.

  • Full Titanal  :

The core is reinforced with a titanal layer from tip to tail.

  • Semi Cap  :

Semi-capped sidewalls are a good way to unify the sides with the top of the ski and maintain the strength of vertical sidewalls.

    Facilitates rotation.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip rocker  :

Skis are more manoeuvrable, contact points on the skis are placed in order to reduce the effective running length, which allows easier pivot and a better float.
